A crazy decision about my Ering, but at least it's made and over with. Time to move forward!

I have been so lucky to have a wonderful FH who gave me the engagement ring of my dreams. I picked it out in three sizes and he gave me the most sizeable one and I know his intentions 100% were to make me happy. It was a beautiful round brilliant with eight round brilliant channel set sidestones. Gorgeous.

However, for some reason I just never loved it, and that definitely was the case once they sized it. Something was not the same afterwards.

So today I think I sort of did what no one does. I had it reset as a solitaire. I deblinged it! It now will just have the same setting as the center stone but instead no side bling. It seems classier to me and also simpler as I have small hands and tiny bones. The thick setting just seemed too much.

To keep the spirit of the initial setting we bought our wedding bands today, mine is a half circle round brilliant channel set. Gorgeousness.

I hope you all approve of my crazy decision. But if not that's ok, I am just relieved to have made the decision so I can move forward and stop obsessing.

i dont think you are crazy at all -- i prefer a solitaire e-ring over a channel set any day, but then again i prefer simple. love the diamond wedding band

i think you made the right decision. if every time you looked down at your hand you said to yourself, 'i wish i had the solitaire,' it was the right thing to do!

I am so happy you did what you wanted to do! I agree, I like the look of a solitaire versus channel set stones on the e-ring.......that's just my opinion though. I think it does look classier as you said and will really be gorgeous paired with a band that has the stones only. Congrats and enjoy your ring!

Good for you...I don't think you're crazy. I think the solitaire setting compliments your diamond. It's a really nice sized diamond and I think it looks more elegant alone (not to say that it didn't look nice before). And you still have the channel setting for your band. Beautiful!

i dont think you are nuts at all! i have a solitaire also and I think I am going to have a diamond wedding band (have one picked out but money is gettting tiiiight ) - i really like the sleekness of a solitaire - and they never go out of style! so glad you are happy!

I also have a solitaire and I LOVE It. I personally hate when other stones overpower a ring. I think its looks BEATIFUL! And im also doing a diamond wedding band

you're not crazy and your ring is gorgeous. i did the same EXACT thing - I got the same channel set, 8 side stones as you did and I wanted a different setting so I had my ring reset and the band made to match.

it's YOUR ring, you should love it!!
