a few details about my family get together- long-ish
surprisingly enough, it turned out very well. everyone was well behaved, and all of the food was really good (if I do say so myself ![]()
) but I also have evidence b/c there was really nothing but pasta left!
my mom was actually more helpful than I expected- she agreed to make sausage and peppers for me instead of another chicken dish, and that is one of her 'specialties' and was a hit. my chicken and pasta game out yummy, so did the guacamole, bruschetta, fruit salad, and the shrimp cocktail was delicious!!
I spend A LOT of time in the kitchen, but it kept us from spending A LOT of $$ at a restaurant. we even bought a little kiddie pool at Toys R Us for $11 for the kids to play in- big hit.
fh surprised me by getting 2 of our e-pcis framed and placed next to the champagne. we had a toast at the end ouf the night and fh formally asked his brother to be best man and my brother to be a groomsman. we then asked all of our nieces to be flower girls, and they all jumped up and down with delight. it was very sweet.
FSIL behaved herself for the most part, and a good time was had by all.
