A few questions..

Re: A few questions..

1- you dont have to invite everyone that you are inviting to the wedding to the engagement party. you can if you want but its not a must.

2- you dont have to send invitations to the bp. most people just give them a copy of the invitation if they want one.

Re: A few questions..

I invited everyone that was NOT an Out Of Towner. I figured it wasn't worth it for out of state people to come....but I'm inviting like 140 ppl to the wedding and our E-party only had about 65ppl. We planned it in a month so alot of people were away on vacation too b/c it was Aug 11th.

I sent everyone an invite......but only b/c my cousins who are my MOH and BridesMaids live in the same house as my aunt and uncle so thats how they got one and then we gave one to FH's parents and the Best Man lives w/ them so he got that one. But if they lived separate I wouldn't have mailed them ones.

Re: A few questions..

I say yes and yes. Here's why.

1. People that you invite to the e-party are most likely people that will be invited to the wedding. Unless you are planning a small e-party, it's OK to only invite immediate family/friends/BP. If you're having a big one, you may as well invite everyone. Not everyone will show of course, but people like being invited even if they can't go.

2. Again I say yes, if only as a formality. I know that if I were a BP member, I would like an invite just because it would be nice and I cherish things like that. My SIL didn't send invites to the BP and immediate family and it hurt a bit. Like I said, people just like having them as a memento. Unless money is a huge factor, you should send them.

Of course, do whatever you feel is best, but hopefully this helps a bit

Re: A few questions..

Question 1- I would only invite a select few that I know I am inviting to my wedding
and
Question 2- I am sending an invitation to everyone
but,
I think both of those questions are your personal preference
Good luck planning

Re: A few questions..

1. You have to make sure that everyone you invite to the eparty is invited to the wedding. thats the only rule i think.

2. It can't hurt, they might want one.

Re: A few questions..

I am having an engagement dinner party.. but we are only inviting immediate family and bridal party/very close friends... so it will be like 60 people instead of the 200 we are inviting to the wedding. We wanted to keep it small.

But I think the rule is that if they are invited to the E party they HAVE to be invited to the Wedding.

Re: A few questions..

For my engagement party I am having 135 people which may seem like a lot but what we did is only invite immediate family and the bridal party. I have a large family and a large bridal party so that is how we defined our lines.

You do not need to invite everyone to your engagement party but you do need to invite everyone from your engagement party to the wedding.

As for the invitations, yes, everyone should recieve one. I am even mailing one to my future in-laws.

Re: A few questions..

1- We invited close family and friends. It turned out being 75 ppl but it wasn't everyone we are inviting to the wedding.

2- You don't have to i'm sure they will remember lol

Re: A few questions..

1. We aren't having an e-party but from what I understand you don't have to invite everyone but the people u invite to the e-party u have to invite to the wedding.

2. I've always gotten an invitation when I was in the bridal party and I plan to do the same for mine.

Re: A few questions..

some e-parties are just family and BP. you have a lot of flexibility w/ the guest list.
