A few random wedding questions.. help!

Hi girls - I don't have time to be on here as much as I'd like, but I have a few random questions/musings and I was hoping to get some opinions!

1) Is it typical for the bride and groom to enter the reception with one song and then do their first dance to a different song? Or is the entrance/first dance song usually the same? Also, do the bride and groom finish the first song by themselves, or is the bridal party (or everyone?) invited to come up and dance at some point during that song?

2) My dress is ivory with very subtle blush pink accents. I am so clueless when it comes to flowers, but what kind of bouquet do you think would look best? Ivory flowers? Some pink? I'd like my bridesmaids bouquets to be all very light pink. I know my florist will help, but I'd just like some opinions and maybe pictures?

3) My wedding is on a Saturday, rehearsal on Friday at 7:00pm. I'd like to take my BMs to get their nails done and take them to lunch earlier in the day. I figured this would be a good time to give them their gifts and just have some girl time before the wedding. I was also planning on inviting my mom and FMIL, but is there anyone else I should include? What about mothers of children in the bridal party? I'm planning on inviting my junior BMs and FG.

4) My parents are throwing the wedding and thus the invitations will have their return address on them and RSVPs will get sent to their house. Is it okay to MAIL them from my post office (different state) or does that look weird?

5) So my BMs are getting ready at my house, but staying at a hotel by the reception. How do they transport all their stuff from my house to the church to the reception and to the hotel?? Seems like a huge logistical challenge! Will it fit in the limo? Some of them are staying at the hotel before, but some are not.

7) Honestly - is it tacky to do a garter toss? I feel like it's fun, but I know a lot of people think it's stupid these days. Also, could we do a bouquet/garter toss AND the anniversary dance?

Any help would be appreciated!! :)

To answer your first question, I've been to many many weddings and at all of them, the entrance song and first dance song were different and in the middle of the song, everyone was invited to join them on the dance floor. Maybe one or two weddings just the bridal party joined in. But you can do whatever you want! But typically, the entrance song has more of a party feel to it than the first dance.

I'm personally not at all comfortable with the idea of FH going up my leg in front of everyone and then some other guy going up another girl's leg in front of everyone. But everyone is different, so if you're comfortable with that and want to do it, you should. And I honestly don't see why you couldn't do both bouquet/garter toss and anniversary dance!

Normally the bride and groom enter into the room with one song (usually upbeat) & then use a different song for their first dance song. As for the second part of your question, I've been to weddings where the bride and groom have danced their first song by themselves and have also gone to weddings where they have everyone join. It's your choice, really.

You can do creams, ivories or even a pink a shade or two darker than what your girls have. What color are your girls wearing? Perhaps you can find something to compliment their dress color as well

Grandmothers? Perhaps anyone doing a reading or participating in your ceremony? You don't have to invite the mothers of your Jr. BM or FG... they'll understand it's a bridal party thing

4) My parents are throwing the wedding and thus the invitations will have their return address on them and RSVPs will get sent to their house. Is it okay to MAIL them from my post office (different state) or does that look weird?

You can mail the invitations from any post office. Most likely people won't even notice

My girls just threw everything into the limo & there was more than enough room. If you're that worried, perhaps you can ask a family member or two to help out.

7) Honestly - is it tacky to do a garter toss? I feel like it's fun, but I know a lot of people think it's stupid these days. Also, could we do a bouquet/garter toss AND the anniversary dance?

Again, this is entirely up to you! Personally, we didn't do a garter/bouquet toss... it's not our thing but if you want to do it, DO IT! As for the anniversary dance, I would do one or the other.

Hope this helps!

Any help would be appreciated!! :)

A few random wedding questions.. help!

1) Is it typical for the bride and groom to enter the reception with one song and then do their first dance to a different song? Or is the entrance/first dance song usually the same? Also, do the bride and groom finish the first song by themselves, or is the bridal party (or everyone?) invited to come up and dance at some point during that song? it's typically different songs. we are going to fade into a different song with the same name for a more upbeat song for everyone else to join us on the dance floor

2) My dress is ivory with very subtle blush pink accents. I am so clueless when it comes to flowers, but what kind of bouquet do you think would look best? Ivory flowers? Some pink? I'd like my bridesmaids bouquets to be all very light pink. I know my florist will help, but I'd just like some opinions and maybe pictures? we are holding light blue and having our bms hold white flowers, to mix it up

I'm planning on inviting my junior BMs and FG. i would include your &fh mothers they are part of the BP too!

4) My parents are throwing the wedding and thus the invitations will have their return address on them and RSVPs will get sent to their house. Is it okay to MAIL them from my post office (different state) or does that look weird? we are using our address for RSVPs, but we are in the same state. i dont see a problem with sending from your P.O.!

5) So my BMs are getting ready at my house, but staying at a hotel by the reception. How do they transport all their stuff from my house to the church to the reception and to the hotel?? Seems like a huge logistical challenge! Will it fit in the limo? Some of them are staying at the hotel before, but some are not. we are doing a 'hotel run' and leaving our cars and bags the night before... not sure if this helps in your case

7) Honestly - is it tacky to do a garter toss? I feel like it's fun, but I know a lot of people think it's stupid these days. Also, could we do a bouquet/garter toss AND the anniversary dance? we arent doing a garter toss, it's ok not to! you can do both the tosses & the dance.... !
