and she wants a place that :wows' her when she walks in. She wants to get married Jan 2005 & wants to pay around $100 - $150 per plate? Can anyone help?
I, of course, reccommened Harbor Club (my hall) & NRC (my #2 choice) to her, but she wants a hall with high ceilings & neutral, but elegant decor.

I personally loved NRC, and she liked it to, especially the entrance way, staircase & Bridal Suite, but she did not care for the low ceilings in the ballroom.
I was telling her about Land's End & Atlantica? What do you guys think?

Re: A friend of mine is getting married....
Land's End 'wowed' me (which is why I chose it as my site). However, I found it much more of a laid-back 'wow' than something like NRC. The deck is quite casual (which is exactly what I was looking for). I have the same opinions of Atlantica. Both gorgeous sites but it depends on whether she wants formal 'wows' or just 'wows'. hope this makes sense!

Flowerfields is bautiful & an amazing site & actually was her 1st choice, but way out of her price range.
Lands End & Atlantica are both a little laid back by comparison but they do a fabulous display for CH & the table presentation is fabulous....I just wonder if it is in her price range of $100 - $125 pp?

What about Bourne Mansion (Lessing establishment)? I think that's a WOW kind of place. And I also think it is in her price range.

The Inn at East Wind is like that it has cathedrial celiengs and a 2 ton chandeler in the middle of the lobby. It also has two huge chandeleries in the ballrooms and the colors are ivory and mahogany wood. Tell her to defenitly check it out.

Re: A friend of mine is getting married....
My fiancee and her bride's maids have been raving about Flowerfield. I finally went today and we are probably going to book for 2005 tomorrow morning. I thought the cocktail area could actually be used for the reception also. They do only one wedding at a time. If you scroll down or do a search for pictures some couples have posted their pictures on here. Good luck. I'll let everyone know how it goes tomorrow. Feel free to reply or ask me any questions.

When I was going reception hall shopping, I got the biggest 'WOW' from the Bourne Mansion! (Wish I could afford it.) That place is spectacular!

Re: A friend of mine is getting married....
We are getting married at Flowerfield in April, and were able to get a price in her range. I thought they were very flexible, maybe she can try to negotiate with them, esp for an off season wedding.

Has she checked out The Crescent Beach Club? It is a beautiful place, right on the beach and the beach is yours!!!! It is pretty expensive, but we got a better deal for doing it Labor Day weekend.

What about Glen Island Habour Club, my future SIL went to a wedding there in the winter and she thougth it was beautiful and I think for a winter wedding she would be able to do it in her price range.

Re: A friend of mine is getting married....
I got married at Flowerfield and they were amazing and very fair. I have been to soooo many weddings, but will always love Flowerfield. Am always hoping that someone I know will have there wedding there so I could go back as a guest and really enjoy the place. If you put chair covers and change the linens at Atlantica it will Wow you in that elegant way.
