We are invited to a relatives mothers surprise 70th birthday party. THe party is more like a wedding, it is going to be held where her daughter got married at that reception hall, and it is in the evening, very nice attire. YOu cant put money, but what else should i get. i mean i have to spend atleast 100 considering that is how much they are paying for two people to rent that place sunday night. waterford clocks? frames? any cool ideas? thanks

Maybe a gift cert to get a massage or a day of beauty- just make sure they have done older people. Broadway tickets, local theater and dinner.
FYI: Some stationary store have cards with each year on them- like what happend, what the price of bread was- that might be neet too.

I like the broadway tickets idea and dinner. Maybe get her a gift certificate to ticketmaster or something... and then again for somewhere nice for dinner.

What about a gift card(s) to get her hair and/or nails done. Or, make up a basket of things she enjoys...ex: A good bottle of wine or two or things she wouldnt buy herself. Just a thought.

in my fmaily, we often give that person how ever many gifts they are (ie - you would give her 70 giftsZ) wrap each gift with a funny saying (ie - jar opener says 'to help you out of a jam', etc) - its a little hard otdo sometiems buit we find when people get older, they really don''t need much stuff - so this way oyu can give them things they use - pus its fun to open all them and have them guess what is inside!!
