A gift for the Mother of the Groom

My FMIL was having problems with her new daughter in-law (she felt left out of the wedding planning process. . .complete opposite of our wedding!) So to lift her spirits I gave her a book called 'Mother of the Groom' by Eileen Posner. It has little stories about being the 'mother of the Groom' . . .She LOVED it!!! It gave her a good laugh and took her mind off her problems. I make sure she's well informed about our wedding and she seems much more relaxed. Just wanted to pass this along . . .makes a great little gift

I found the Mother of the Bride book at Paperie in Roosevelt Field. Very cute!

What a great idea! My FMIL has been helping tremendously (and is so flattered to be a part of the planning process). Maybe I will buy her that book for Channukah or her birthday - she will be very excited!

I think my FMIL also may feel slightly left out b/c I am planning this whole wedding myself, and to tell you the truth, I'm not really that open to suggestions. hee hee.
I will buy her that book also, I think she'll really appreciate it.

Thanks what a great suggestion! My FMIL is in the hospital right now

but she has been very involved in the process (okay she made me crazy too) but I still love her lol and think she will appreciate the book.

BlueBaby- I got it at Borders. .if they don't have it on the shelf ask them to order. . all the major bookstores will order books for you if they don't have them in stock!

My FMIL is really nice but totally not involved. She never asks for anything and everything I am doing is 'lovely' I could not ask for better.

Spel, who wrote the Mother of the Bride? Where in Roosevelt Field is that store you got it from? Both my mother and my MIL would love something like that! Thanks!
