What about 'I'll Stand By You' For the life of me I can't remember who sings it, but I'm sure someone else will know. Or you could use 'Stand by Me'

The Pretenders sing I'll Stand by You. That's a beautiful song.

Re: A good song for Bride and her sister?

Maybe it's a little corny but my sister and I have had a song for each other since we were little...it's 'time after time' by cindy lauper
ETA lyrics:
Cindy Lauper
Time After Time

Lying in my bed I hear the clock tick,
And think of you
Caught up in circles confusion
Is nothing new

Flashback to warm nights
Almost left behind
Suitcase of memories,
Time after -

Sometimes you picture me
I'm walking too far ahead
You're calling to me, I can't hear
What you've said

Then you say, go slow
I fall behind -
The second hand unwinds

If you're lost you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall I will catch you, I'll be waiting
Time after time

If you're lost you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall I will catch you I'll be waiting
Time after time

After my picture fades and darkness has
Turned to gray
Watching through windows you're wondering
If I'm O.K.

Secrets, stolen
from deep inside
The drum beats out of time -

If you're lost you can look - and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall I will catch you - I'll be waiting
Time after time

You say - go slow -
I fall behind -
The second hand unwinds

If you're lost you can look - and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall I will catch you - I'll be waiting
Time after time

If you're lost you can look - and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall I will catch you - I'll be waiting
Time after time
time after time
time after time
time after time
time after time
time after time
time after time
time after time

Re: A good song for Bride and her sister?

All good suggestions!! These are the lyrics to aint no mountain high enough...

Listen baby

Ain't no mountain high
Ain't no valley low
Ain't no river wide
Enough baby
If you need me call
No matter where you are
No matter how far
Just call my name
I'll be there in a hurry
You don't have
To worry, worry

Ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough
Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from
Getting to you

Remember the day
I set you free
I told you you could
Always count on me
From that day on
I've made a mind
I'll be back
When you want
Some way, somehow

Ain't no mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough

Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from
Getting to you

If you need me
(I need you)
Call me no matter
Where you are
No matter how far
Just call my name
And I'll be there in a hurry
On that you can depend
No need to worry
'Cause you see darling
There ain't no
Mountain high enough
There ain't no
River wide enough
To keep me
From getting to you

Ain't no mountain
High enough (oh yeah)
Ain't no valley
Low enough (ooh)
Ain't no river
Wide enough
(Baby baby baby baby)
To keep me from you
Ain't no mountain
High enough
Ain't no valley
Low enough
Ain't no river
Wide enough
To keep me from you

Ain't no mountain
High enough
Ain't no valley
Low enough
Ain't no river
Wide enough
To keep me from
Getting to you

I wanted FH and I to enter to Ain't No Mountain High Enough, but decided against it because noone would be able to enjoy the song. We'll have it played later in the reception, I love that song!

My sister and I danced to Wind Beneath my wings at her wedding. That song means alot to us and it was a real tear jerker for the crowd.

At a wedding I went to the bride and her sister danced to a Natalie Merchant song, I can't think of the name of it.

The Natalie Merchant song might have been 'My Sister Rose' -- it's by 10,000 Maniacs. It'd be a cute wedding song for a dance with your sister! Here are the lyrics:

Big plans are being made for my sisters wedding day.
We'll have a ball at the Sons of Roma Hall.
Family, friends come one and all.
First the best man makes a toast to Rocky and my sister Rose,
'A life of years free of tears. Bottoms up and lots of luck!'
`
Polka, tango everyone, cha-cha, mambo Rose and Rock alone.
Frankie Rizzo and his Combo play on.

Single girls all hear the call from a crowd at the back wall
and when the bouquet flies each one tries to be the best catch and next years bride.
Uncle Sam and Uncle Joe take their places in the row.
They're standing by side to side for dollar dances with the bride.

Polka, tango everyone, cha-cha, mambo, Rose and Rock alone.
'He's a banker, she'll be well off now.'

Sister Rose take your mother's place.
Trade your home and your maiden name.
For a list of vows and a veil of lace made a wife of you today.

Now they cut the five tier cake, 'That Colucci, he can bake.'
A frosted tower of sugar and flour for the couple of the hour.

Polka, tango everyone, cha-cha, mambo Rose and Rock alone.
She was born to wear that gown.

Sister Rose take your mother's place.
Trade your home and your maiden name.
For a list of vows and a veil of lace made a wife of you today,
but you're my sister Rose the same.
