A great TA recommendation - please read!

I have spoken highly about Leslie at Travel Solutions before this, but she really out did herself for our HM to the Bahamas last week. She worked so hard for me last Friday that I just felt she should be applauded for all her hard work.

When we were in the planning stages to go to the Bahamas (Sandal's resort), she recommended we fly JetBlue as tey would have the best air fare prices, so we found an affordable flight and booked it before it changed.

So, skip foward to Friday, March 16 - a winter storm hits NYC. JetBlue cancelled our flight for Saturday morning and couldn't get us on another flight until Monday/Tuesday even though they had other connecting and direct flights leavng JFK that day. I argued with customer service on how this was even fair or tangible and they had no answer for me, so I got a full refund.

At this point, I was crying and on the phone with Leslie telling her what happened and what could I do? Leslie told me to give her a few minutes and to call her associate Margaret who was by a computer. The two of them searched high and low for flights and found one out of LGA that was leaving the same time as our JetBlue flight was supposed to. Although it was late tickets and couldn't get us paper tickets for the flights, they e-mailed me my reservation number, my internet ticket, and called me that night to say they had spoken with the Sandals reps with my flight changes, so when we arrived in Nassau, Sandals was ready and waiting for us with transportation to the resort.

They worked with Sandals up to the day of our trip and got us the best room in the resort that was an ocean front concierge room on the top floor, so we had a view of the beaches, the water, the sun sets, etc.

Leslie was phenomenal and took care of all my worries, fears, etc She took care of trying to get my husband and I seats together on our flights and it all worked out.

I can't say enough about Leslie. She was awesome to work with and came through in the pinch for us when JetBlue f*cked us over. She made our HM even more special by making sure we enjoyed every last second there. I highly recommend her, not only for their service, but for her friendly nature - she stayed on the phone with me while I cried thinking I wouldn't get to take my HM, and made it a point of saying she was going to get us down there or get us a full refund for a later trip. I can't thank her enough for what she gave us - we had a total piece of mind while in the Bahamas b/c Leslie had taken care of every last detail for us.

Great to hear your TA was able to help you out! But just realize...that is their job..that's what they are supposed to do for you when you are stuck at an airport with no flight!!!

Also please try and realize Jet Blue can't control the weather...The weather was terrible and it was unsafe for them to fly. I believe most airlines cancelled flights that night due to the storm. My sister and her hubby were also stuck in the airport all night...same night as you...they were headed to France. No flights out til the following morning. Every airline was a mess - so it wasn't just Jet Blue and honestly I have a friend who works in the airlines. Jet Blue is probably the only airline who would have given you the full refund. I think that was great they did that. Those flights they had going out the next day you wanted to get on were probably already full - ya know?

So happy you got out the next day though and had a great honeymoon!!! That is all that matters!!!

I hate to argue, but Jet Blue and American Air were the main airlines that cancelled flights Friday-Sunday. The rest of the airlines cancelled flights only for Friday and some connections on Saturday morning, but were rescheduling passengers for later flights. Delta, USAir, United, etc were all flying regular schedules on Saturday morning, although delayed, they took off - my USAir flight was not packed/over booked - there were empty seats in each row.

I would much rather deal with delays than cancellations and yes, I know airlines can't control the weather, but airlines should know what to do when bad weather hits and know how to handle customer's - esp when one tries calling at 7am and can't get through until 3pm. That's just bad business.

As for my TA - her job was to get me to Nassau on my regularly scheduled day and she did, and she made sure we had free upgrades at Sandals when we arrived.

CONGRATS Ewickens on yoru HM. Welcome Back. Hope you had fun.
I used Lesley @ Travel Solutions as well and she was GREAT!. Granted there were no snow storms or hurricanes - Thank god BUT she called the day I arrived to make sure we were OK and happy and I called her non-stop weeks before for ideas and fun things to do. Teh girl knows her stuff!!

JETBLUE stinks as an airline. They left me on a plane for 2 hours B/C their FUEL guy went home and tehy had to recall someone else. Can you believe it? Then those poor people a few weeks back that were stuck on there for 11 hours. As far as airlines giving you refunds, they are not the only one as my hubby got back $$ on a US AIR FLight from that ice storm where he was suppose to fly to Detroit during that mess. They gave us the full refund, and they better b/c he was going out for a meeting and 1 meeting only and we the consumers can not control the weather either. Thats teh price airlines have to pay - They sure make enough from us anyway.

Anyway Welcome Back!!!
