'A' list and 'B' list

'A' list and 'B' list

Hi ladies,

Just wondering if any of you out there while making your guest list tiered guests into 'A' and 'B' groups, and staggered your invitations accordingly. Once you recieved a reply from an 'A' group invite, a 'B' group invite goes out, and so on.

My fiance and I are thinking about doing this because the room we want has a limit of 100. The people who are on the two lists have no connection (ie: nobody's feelings would get hurt). We honestly do want everyone at the wedding, but due to finances, and the fact we have a small pool of people to begin with, it seems like a good option.

Additionally, then what do you do about STDs? Send them only to the A group, because they are the only ones sure to get an invite?

Thoughts?

TIA!

we didnt really have and A and a B list, just a little too many people to begin with so a few stragelers didnt make the first round of invitations going out...lol as soon as we got some no's, we sent invites to them!

We'll send out 'B' list invites as we start getting no's. I only sent STD's to 'A' list people. You can't send an STD and then not send an invite.

If you send a STD, you have to invite them, so only send STD's to A list

We did the same thing. Just remember you have to send out your invitations a little earlier to give the B list people enough time to RSVP.

We are doing this. There's so many people I want to invite but can't because I have to send invites to family members I've never even met ( ), so once they say no, which most of them will because they're very old or in a state far away from NY, I'll send out more invites.

We're only sending out STDs to A list people. We are inviting 350 A listers, and we'd like to have about 300 people attend (that is our minimum). So we aren't going to start sending out B list invites if & when we are getting close to the 300 people min.

I agree. Send it out to the A list group first and later on if you have room for more then start looking at the B list

yeah agree with everyone else. i'm only sending STDs to A listers. Then will stagger the invites and send out B lists when I get nos.

IMHO

1. STD's only to the A list

2. invites to the A list must be sent quite early, earlier than 2 months, because if the B list people receive thier invites very close to the wedding date they may sense they are B list people and may not attend - possibly leaving you with empty plates and extra expenses. I was invited as a B person to an event and I did not go -sensing I was on the B list. I was not particularly offended because I didn't know the Bride and Groom that well. GL.

3. In general usually 10% or more of the invited guests cannot attend the wedding for whatever reason.

This i show we plan to do it as well. Just make sure not to offend anyone and the ppl in your B list aren't close friends with the A listers and find out they received their invites a while before them.

we didnt do a b list.... inviting 185 was enough... hoping for more like 150 to attend
