Hi girls, anyone make an a-list & a b-list of guests?

Right now we are in the process of really doing our entire guestlist. I know most ppl send their invites out about 2 months before their wedding date, but we are probably doing ours 3 months in advance b/c we have a lot of OOT guests and it's around the holidays, so I want to make sure ppl can get good airfare.

My friend who is making our invitations said that she can make 2 sets of invites if we want, with 2 different response dates. The A-list will have their RSVP date a little earlier. Then once we get all our A-list responses, we can send out our B-list invites if we have room for more ppl.

Anyone else doing this and any suggestions?

i'm not actually doing this, but i know a lot of others are ... i think it's a great idea!

I think I am having a B list. Not sure how I will work the details out but I think it's the best way for us to stay in our budget with out hurting feelings.

I'm having an A List and B List but with the same RSVP date just b/c I think it's easier for the person making our invites. I just plan on sending out the A List invitations earlier than normal - end of May for the August wedding. As the responses come in I'll send out the B Listers. BUT if the person making your invites can do 2 different RSVP dates then I think that's even better!

Great idea-those on the A list that can't make it will give a spot to someone on the B list. But i think i'll have the same RSVP date just mail the other ones out earlier.

I have a small b-list. It's about 30-40 people. I also do not have any co-workers on my list, so I can always turn to them if need be.

That is a good idea. I do have an A list and a B list, but I didn't think of the logistics of how I was going to do this. My friend is doing our invites also, I think I will use your idea.
