A List for a Stress Free Wedding Day
So I was thinking about the little things that came up on the morning of my wedding even though I was organized, things get miscommunicated. So I made a list for all the new Brides to be. Hope it helps!!! ( I am having post wedding withdrawals obviously)
1. Getting Ready with your Bridal Party is fun!! but it tends to get messy. Plan on having your separate space i.e. your own room or section where you can get ready alone. I would also recommend getting large twill totes for the bridesmaids and in each tote pack the following toiletries (deodorant, toothpaste, tic tacs, tampon, advil, water, cotton swabs, hairspray, Tide to Go or Oxy Wipes) You can have the bridesmaids names sewn on so that the night before or on the night of the rehearsal dinner all of the bridesmaids can put all of the items they need for the day of in that tote. For example their shoes, undergarments, earrings, necklace, hair accessory.
Have them also bring their dresses and in the tote get manila tags and write their names on them and hang each tag to the appropriate hanger. This eliminates someone forgetting a certain item on the day of the wedding and everything will be in one bag for each girl and they have a tote to place the clothes they will have the morning of in. ALSO have them wear BUTTON DOWN SHIRTS (or Robes) this will prevent hair and makeup getting messed up.
2. Make a Vendor List with Contact numbers for the Maid of Honor. Have the list near the phone in the place where you will be getting ready. The list should include the Videographer, Photographer, Florist, Limo, Hair and Makeup. Have the MOH contact each vendor a half hour before they are set to arrive to confirm their ETA.
3. Drink at least one Mimosa with your bridal party!! Take selfies before everything goes down pictures and memories are what you are left with! Before you put on your gown OF COURSE! and if you don't want them posted tell the bridal party but take the selfies trust me you will enjoy looking at them afterwards.
4. Plan a timeline with your MUA and Hairstylist and make sure YOU are not the last person in their chair. The Timeline should depend on the size of your bridal party i.e. 4 bridesmaids: 2 bm go first, then you the bride and then the other 2 bm last. The MOB should be before the bride so she can come out in the “getting her daughter ready pics”
5. Best way to deal with a Bitchy, Annoying and Difficult Bridesmaid is to IGNORE HER!! Seriously kill her with a smile and go to YOUR happy place. i.e. She doesn’t like her hair... a great response would be “then take it down, or put it up” do what makes you happy… ( KINDNESS always makes them re-think their anger) If she is running late she will have to deal with the consequences the party must go on, Don't get annoyed don't call her 50 million times and stress yourself out.. Act like Elsa and LET IT GO. Ignoring her lateness will make her feel 100 million times WORSE.
6. Ask room service to bring straws to your room so you don’t mess up your lipstick.
7. When you get to the cocktail hour EAT a lil something!!
8. Send your MOH to look at the reception room BEFORE the guests arrive to make sure everything looks AMAZING.
9. Make the MOG feel a little special ( as Brides we forget that she may feel a little “left” out even if she a MONSTER IN LAW Give her a hug and thank her for being the MOM to the love of your life.. It may be you one day who will be giving away your son.
10. No issue is too big on this day go with the flow and DON’T LET ANYTHING dampen your mood, think of the end result which is marrying your best friend the love of your life. After all is said and done tiny issues are specks compared to the love you are celebrating!
