A Little Blue

A Little Blue

Well, my sister's wedding was this past Friday at Land's End. It was absolutlely AMAZING!!! I am not simply saying it b/c it was my sister...it really was just perfect from start to finish. And, for anyone getting married at Land's End...what a perfect place! It was like being on an island. Everyone there was great too. Well, here is why I am a bit blue...It's all over. All the planning and waiting and excitiement has ended. I feel like I have lost steam to plan mine now too. I think b/c I was so involved in this one (I was MOH) and I saw how quickly it passed us by...I feel just so blah Has anyone else experienced this? Sister and her husband left for HM today so I'm sure they are good...but after speaking to several other people about this, they said they were in major depression after their wedding day passed...Sorry this post was so lengthy...thanks for reading...

Re: A Little Blue

I KNOW this will happen to me. I am so obsessed w/ planning my wedding that I will feel empty when it is over, but then I will move on to buying a house and will be obsessed w/ that and after that it is baby time, and once you have a baby there really isn't time for much else. So I think it is just natural progression, we might be sad but we will all be fine and move on to the next big thing in life

I'm pretty sure this is going to happen to me too. I've put so much into the planning that I feel like my life is gonna be 'over' after the wedding...
what am i going to do all day? who am i going to talk to?
especially since this site has become such a major part of my daily routine.

some great advice i was given is to start a hobby a few weeks or months before the wedding that has nothing to do with the wedding at all. that way, after the wedding you'll still have something to keep yourself busy.

I like that idea...I wish I had some sort of hobby right now to keep me occupied. My sister will be on HM for 2 weeks and I have been with her day in and day out for months now doing wedding related stuff. It's a withdrawal I guess. I am in a funk and I can't wait to snap out of it. We are booking our HM tomorrow and I am hoping that will help me

what do you like to do? are you crafty? ac moore is having a huge sale right now, you could go and pick up some stuff that you've always wanted to do or something.
Jewerly making, scrap booking, you can paint really cute wooden things...

I know what you mean, I got a mini-taste of it on my pre-anniversary...throughout the day I was just thinking about what I would be doing next year at that time, and it made me realize how quickly the day is going to fly by...

Re: A Little Blue

Feeling blue after the big day is normal. My mom already warned me about it. She helped my aunt (her sister) plan her wedding years ago and after the big day she felt a bit empty. I think if your the bride and you arent living together yet, or your going to be moving into a new place it will be different since your life changes from that point on. I think the depression after the big day hits those who already live together and who arent moving to a new place the hardest.. Unless of course to move on to baby planning..
