I understand how you're feeling - I was disappointed by some of our No's, too. Just remember that there will be a whole bunch of people there and you will have a fabulous time. Yes, of course you wish the others could be there, but there's nothing you can do about it (some people just suck) and you're day will be amazing regardless.

Keep positive and remember that the people who love you the most will be there with you and your FH and you both will have an amazing day regardless of who shows up.

are these like close friends and family members who he thought would be there but are not coming? is there a good reason whythey are not coming? not that that will make it any better, but at least it will give him the peace of mind that they were not able to attend for a valid reason.

just look at it the way you are, the people who mean most will be there and celebrate with you!

I'm sorry...it's hard not to take it personally! I know you and the hub are going to have an amazing time though and you can say 'SUCK IT' to these people when they have a huge event in their lives.

his family lives all over the country, and basically none of them are coming because they dont want to pay to travel. id rather not get a gift and have them there if that's what it came down to.

they are all of his first cousins, aunts, uncles, etc.

he has 5 uncles and 3 aunts and only 2 uncles and one aunt are coming. virtually none of his cousins. (i think there are 30 cousins and 6 of them are coming). basically, only the local people are coming, which is my FMIL's cousins.

people just suck - i feel bad that they prob arent coming because they cant afford to, but some of them are driving distance away (virginia, illinois, north carolina) and they still aren't coming. oh well

something to keep in mind - sometimes the people who can't come do give other family members a gift to bring on their behalf. we had this happen. they rsvp'd no on the envelope and did not send us any money (not that we expected any) and then we were really surprised when we got extra envelopes when we got hom from the people who couldn't make it.
doesn't make it easier that they are not there on your wedding day, but at least it shows that they cared. you never know!

This exactly! I went through the same thing with my family and was so bummed out. But on the day of the wedding - I forgot all about it. You are going to have a beautiful wedding. <3

i know exactly how you feel; we didn't even meet our minimum.

i'm just at the point now that it is what it is and if people don't want to be there, eff them.

your wedding is going to be amazing, regardless of who shows up and the people that matter the most are going to be there to celebrate with you.

I felt the same way....my DH had 2 tables of family and 3 tables of friends....I had the other 14 tables of family and friends. He was ok with it because he said that he now knew which people in his life meant the most to him bc they made the trek to the wedding...both from near and far.

I was kinda surprised and certain friends and family that didn't come even after the STD was sent out. Some had great reasons and others were lame, but ya know what?...we had the best time of our lives regardless!!

Keep your chin up....it'll be fabulous no matter what!

I know how you feel. I feel this way, the STD didn't help...... we originally wanted a number and we're about 2 below that... but it is kinda upsetting that those who were 'so excited' for it are not coming.......and don't really have a valid reason.

Your day will be amazing no matter what!!!

This really stinks. I totally understand what you're feeling...I was surprised with some no's as well.

On your wedding day, I'm sure you'll be so happy and it'll be so much fun that you won't notice...and it's their loss!

But regardless, I know it's not what you wanted.
