Re: a little emotional
Its very normal. Its a HUGE change in your life, and its definitely understandable that you are feeling upset about it. Actually its a good thing that you are doing it now and not right after the wedding...this way you will have some time to get used to it and not have that additional stress before the wedding

Re: a little emotional
It is perfectly normal. I have been living in limbo between FH's and home for 7 months. I cant seem to break totally free from home. I guess its because its all I have ever known.
I have found that each night that I stay at FHs it gets easier.

Very smart move. I moved out of my parents house a million years ago, but I remember being at work the first day after, and almost bursting into tears during a meeting.

Re: a little emotional
i was homesick for a good 6 months and only moved around the corner. the first night i cried for hours and was totally surprised by it! it gets better! i am glad we moved in together before the wedding. i wouldnt want that initial transitional stress as a newlywed!
(3 years ago, I dormed for 2 years but was home on weekends, all summer, and holidays- this i had no trouble with but moving out was still hard)

Re: a little emotional
this is the part I am not looking forward to - moving out!!! FH and I both still live at home. I'm hoping to move into a place at least a month or so before we get married, to fix it up and for an adjustment period. I don't know what i'm going to be like at first. i hate the idea of leaving my mom and sister, especially my mom, behind!!!

Re: a little emotional
Oh my god I can totally relate! I am an only child super close to my parents. I moved out a year ago, and I go home on my days off to spend time with them. I have to be honest I cried, I couldn't sleep. It was really hard for me to adjust too. It's only normal! Trust me over time it will get easier. I'm not gonna lie I do miss my parents and think about them alot. Hang in there. I promise it'll get better.
If you need to chat FM me. I'm with you on this!

Re: a little emotional
It's totally normal to feel this way. When I first moved out of my parent's home (not with FH but a roommate at the time) I cried myself to sleep the first few nights. While change like these are good things, it is not easy especially when you have such a great relationship with your family. Go and visit them often...it will help make the transition so much easier. Good luck with your move

Re: a little emotional
It's a big change and it's normal to be emotional about it! Just think that this is the beginning of something new and special with your FH. You're moving out, but that doesn't mean you are going to forget your family. I think you will be ok. Just try to think of the positive!

Re: a little emotional
its funny because i just turned 19 when i moved into an apartment with FH - on top of that my parents moved to Florida - i dont remember feeling upset - i know i was upset that my parents were selling our house and i wouldnt be able to see them anymore because they were moving but i was SO EXCITED to move in with FH (at the time we were just bf/gf) - we've been living together for almost 4 years now - its kind of hard to remember exactly how i felt but i remember being mostly EXCITED - i was def stressed out - worrying about if we could afford it all and things like that - but i dont think you should be upest about it - its not like you wont be able to see your family anymore - you should be excited more than anything!

Re: a little emotional
It's completely normal! My sister left for college in MA in August and I bawled like a baby for days! My family is super tight, especially me & my sister. I literally sat on the steps outside our house for an hour and cried when my parents drove off with her.
Are you moving far? I'm sure you'll still see them all time! Plus it makes the times you see them even more special!

Re: a little emotional
it is normal. and this sad feeling of an era of your life is ending will fade.
it was just my mom and me living in her home and when FH and I decided to move in together, i felt very guilty about leaving her. but i was also excited to have my own home where I can make dinner for her and have her over to watch a movie, have a cup of tea, whatever. My mom visits ALL THE TIME. and your family will too!
things will settle down. feel better

I totally understand how you feel. After marriage is going to be the first time I move out of my house and although I'm excited to start my life with FH, sometimes just thinking about leaving my parents and brother brings me to tears. Even though it's a part of life, all these changes and leaving those you love is such a difficult part of it. However with your FH's support, constant phone calls and visits - I'm sure you'll be fine. FM me if you need to talk - I think this is a huge concern for most brides that are tight with their families.
