A little excitement, a little disappointment....

A little excitement, a little disappointment....

So the bad news first-- I ordered a headpiece (I know I must seem nuts to do all this in so far advance, but I got excited when I saw what I thought was perfect lol).... it was on Ebay, and I had never noticed any other like it before so I got it! Well, it was mostly as beautiful as it looked in the pics, EXCEPT, the big rhinestones were SO cloudy. They looked white instead of clear! Sadly it has to go back.

So pretty the rest of it though! Oh well. Anyone know of a store to go to in person to buy vintage-looking headbands at a reasonable cost? I am now too scared to buy any more online but don't want to pay 250 bucks for it (this one was 70!). lol.

As for the excitement--- two pairs of shoes that I ordered online arrived today! I am very fussy with shoes. I have a wide width foot so I want to give myself a lot of time to walk around in them around the house. WELL, they both came today and THEY ARE SO PRETTYYYY!!!

This first pair is HOT! BUT, there is very little padding under the ball of the foot, and the heel is a smidge higher than I would like to be wearing for 12 hours. I think I may keep them for other occasions (don't ask me what... I just love them lol). Overall, they really are more comfy than most super high heels than I have owned, but still a little too high to be in all day I think. If you are used to romping around in very high heels, these may be very comfy for you! They are Enzo Angiolini from Nordstrom.

Now ladies, this second pair is the reason I am posting!!!! I know they look like they're a bit 'much'--- and they probably are, but my philosophy on wedding shoes is that, if anyone catches a peek of them it may as well be fun! lol. I have to tell you though, this pair of shoes feels like sneakers!!! They are the cushiest shoes on the planet. I could literally walk around in them all day-- and I practically did today! Whether or not you like this particular pair, I suggest you check out the brand, which is J. Renee. They are so well cushioned in the foot bed. I am not even 100% sure I will keep this exact pair bc my gown is going to be champagne and IDK if that will go with the silver... Can you wear silver with champagne?

Anyway, just wanted to share my finds!!!

I think wearing silver with champagne is just fine! Just ask Rudolph...'siiiilver and gooooold, siiiilver and gold'. All joking aside, both shoes are gorgeous, and I'm sorry about your headband.

As for the first pair of shoes, they sell padding for the balls of your toes (Payless, Dr. Scholls, etc), so that may be worth trying!

Good luck!

Sorry that your headband did no look like how you wanted. Love both pairs of shoes and the two colors definitely will go together. Silver goes with anything!

Have you tried cleaning the rhinestone? If you love the piece as much as you do, it might be worth a try.

Not sure where u live but Im in Brooklyn and theres a store on like 85th street and 3rd avenue called Everything But the Dress. If you google it, they actually have a website. They have gorgeous headpieces and jewelery!

ETA: Not that expensive either..

Sorry about the headband! We are on the same mission to find one at a decent price!

As for the shoes-you're the bride!!!!! They're supposed to be a bit much! The one day you can wear whatever you want- go for it!

For the headband I highly recommend Barrons which is at Tricounty Flea Market. I got mine there and it was 70. There is a pic of mine in my album

Re: A little excitement, a little disappointment....

Thanks ladies!!!! I am feeling a little more secure about the silver shoe lol-- it really is the most comfy. I will have to wait til Oct when my gown comes in to see for sure! I am going to continue to stalk that brand for gold ones anyway but at least I have SOMETHING that doesn't make me want to cry!

As for the headpiece, it's cloudy b/c the backed the stone with white fabric, so it's not a matter of cleaning sadly. IDK why they would do that... ... BUT thank you for the store suggestions! Brooklyn is a little far but that flea market is not too far from my University so maybe I will stop in! Yours is very pretty Mara! :)

Edited because I just thought to check your album---
Yours is gorg too GTL!

I could rock that 2nd shoe! Kitten heels are my thing, esp for long periods of time. Thanks for the pics!
