a little info on ring cleaning

I had my nails done again for the first time after receiving my ring and the manicurist put lotion all over my hands (and ring). She cleaned it off pretty well with a warm towel but I felt that I needed to clean it once I got home anyway.

I ended up dipping it in rubbing alcohol and wiping it off. My good friend (a molecular biologist) told me that rubbing alcohol removes lipids. Soaps and lotions are lipids or made of lipids - something like that? Her husband is a jeweler too so that was also part of the reason I tried it.

Happy to report - rubbing alcohol worked.
