For those of you who have done it already, can you offer any pointers???
Also -- big question -- what do I have to WEAR? I want to look nice but I NEED to be comfortable also. It goes from 7-10 Friday night and 9am-5pm + 5pm mass on Saturday.

Good luck! I think you'd be okay in a nice pair of jeans - I wouldnt worry about getting too dressed up.

We just finished pre cana. Everyone wore nice jeans and sweaters. Something along the lines of what you'd wear to a friend's house party. Nothing fancy, but nice.
It wasn't too bad. Married couples would speak about different topics and then you and FH would split up to complete work sheets. Then, you'd discuss your answers with each other. They never singled out any of the engaged couples to speak in front of the group or share their answers. The married couples were always around, though, in case you had questions.

I called the rectory and the woman said that casual attire is fine.
I am excited! This will make it all seem so 'real' on a different level.

No one was dressed up at our pre cana - jeans and sweater are fine...also depends on where you go. We went two Saturdays in a row in NYC and the first one was about 120 people sitting in a room and a couple leads you in discussions on topics ranging from your thoughts about having kids, talking about finances, whether you get along with each others family etc...then you go off on your own to talk to each other about it. The second one was kind of torture though...they talked about S E X, natural planning, etc. and it just made my FH very awkward. I've heard other pre canas that are much smaller groups and more interaction with others...good luck.

I enjoyed mine, nothing to worry about. There were a lot of people so it wasn't like anyone was singled out. I wore jeans and a sweater. Don't dress up, you want to be comfortable.

our precana was fun - we had major drama happen!
someone's FH came to the first pre-cana session all coked out and made an ASSS of himself in front of EVERYONE!!!
the next week they didnt show up
the week after, they called the pre-cana leaders and said they decided to 'put the wedding off'
