Basically I had this really good friend who kinda 'broke up' with me a few years ago LOL. She said that I wasnt being a good friend to her since I had cancelled on a few things for whatever reason. I had good reason at the time and I was really hurt by what she did. She said she didnt want to be friends anymore so we stopped talking. For some reason, I still miss her as a friend and I have been thinking about her since I'm getting married soon. I think she would have been one of my bridesmaids so it's a little hard. It's probably a good thing because it's hard enough with 6 girls lol but still. Anyway- she friend requested me on Facebook the other day so I wrote her a message just asking how she was. She actually wrote back and congratulated me on getting engaged, telling me about her and asking about me. I guess I didnt even expect her to write back and although it makes me happy to hear from her, I guess I'm a little sad too because I know I will email her back and that will probably be it. Anyway i'm just a little sad and I've been really emotional lately with the wedding so soon. Anyway- thanks for listening!!

Everything happens for a reason... Who knows maybe this is a better time for you ladies to try and start over...see where it goes from the emails

Re: A little sad...
I am going through a similar situation right now. I've been friends with this girl for about 20 years but I felt she wasnt as good a friend as i was. She never comes through and i cant depend on her. I love her but i am exhausted dealing with her. She was my MOH but know it looks like we wont even be speaking. It is very sad but sometimes it is for the better. We will probably email in the future but never speak.
Maybe her emailing you was a sign that she was trying to reach out to you. Since she is the one who broke of the friendship maybe she will slowly let you back into her life

Thanks girls! I really appreciate the comments. I'm happy to know that I'm not alone. Even in her email she was asking me questions about my FH and what Ive been up to so I guess she expects a reply right? I mean I dunno...I will definitely reply to her but it still makes me sad that it's come to this. I do believe that everything happens for a reason though!

Yea I'm actually hoping that you are right! I mean I'm not going to get my hopes up or anything. I'm going to email her back with a few questions to keep the conversation going and see what happens. Maybe she has been missing my friendship too??

Re: A little sad...
They way it seems you too were really close and no matter the reason for her pulling away, she def had to miss you and the relationship.
It takes a really big person to come back and try to fix things...
If the realtionship is worth anything you guys will be friends again maybe not as close as b4 but there will be some sorta relationship. If she doesnt mean any good it will not be hard for you to tell.
Friendships cant be forced

I definitely agree that friendships cant be forced and should happen naturally if they are supposed to. This is kind of a dumb question but she emailed me back a few days later than when I first messaged her...should I wait also or just send a message now and not care?

Re: A little sad...
Some ppl dont check their email n fb often or maybe she was busy so that may have cause her delayed response. I usually write ppl back asap cuz I will forget...and your more honest. when you wait u tend to censor yourself and you wanna come across as yourself!
It took me and my friend a few emails and then a few calls then she drove from CT to NY to visit me. After that call we were bff all over again. We dont speak everyday but our relationship is solid and shes one of my BM. I think we needed those years to grow up and learn to appreciate each other.
Give it time..if you guys have no tension or uncomfortable encounters...you should be on your way to a 'new' friendship

Yea you are right...I just wrote back to her because I dont want to play games and just want to be myself. If we are meant to be friends again, I definitely want to come across as myself...like you said. Maybe she has grown up the last few year. I mean it has been a while. And if its not meant to be thats okay too but at least we have some closure I guess.

Re: A little sad...
The best part is you ladies are cordial and if nothing else can be associates.
They say some ppl are meant to be apart of your life for a season maybe this is her (2nd) season
