A little ticked off with Macys registry/star rewards

When I set up the registry I linked it to my star rewards. Basically any wedding related purchase I make with my Macys card and anything purchased from my registry gets us a percentage in star rewards which equals gift cards. Well I purchased my wedding gown at the Macys Bridal Salon in Manhasset with my Macys card. Would you believe that my dress does not qualify for star rewards? How stupid is this? I'm so ticked about this!

I know it is annoying and they aren't upfront with it, but that is because Demetrios owns the bridal boutique and rents the space from Macys. Then there are stipulations as to why other designers can be there.

I'm having similar issues with mine. That and when I signed up for it, basically they told me anything I buy at Macy's will go into my star rewards program. I've been buying clothes for the honeymoon and it's not going in. I'm really upset about it.

I think they should still honor it since I used my Macys card.

Totally agree - we bought new dining room furniture from Macy's and I was really exciting thinking that we'd get a really nice gift card from that - DIDN'T SHOW UP. My FMIL was like oh I think it's so great that you get gift cards back at the end - well despite even my CHINA having been bought at Macy's I'm getting less than $100.

Did you ever call the registry department about it?

When I registered at macys, it was made very clear to me that wedding dresses don't count towards the reward points because the bridal boutique is technically not really 'owned' by Macys. I was, however, told that some bridesmaid dresses and some flower girl dresses would qualify, but I would have to ask the bridal department for more info.
