A little Update on Me

A little Update on Me

I posted this in response to Donna's post but just wanted to put it here too.

I wasn't in any form to be posting yesterday. I had a total breakdown and cried for about 4 hours. Thank God my DH came home early. I was an emotional wreck and in so much pain yesterday.

Well, my doctor said since this isn't the first time this has happened she is going to start running tests on me. But, we can't do them until next month when I get a 'normal' period. Once I do, the tests have to be run on certain days. One cycle day 3 I have to have blood taken to test for a billion and one things. On cycle day 7 I have to go have a Hysterosalpingogram (aka HSG) - Google the term and you will find a lot of info on it but basically they inject dye into me and check my tubes and uterus for abnomalities and blockages. I've heard this is pretty uncomfortable for some reason. Then, 7 days past ovulation I have to have more tests done and 12 days past ovulation, I have to go have my progesterone levels tested and a few other things tested. Then day 21 still more tests. She went over it all with me on the phone but it was so much info to remember - she is sending me all the information on it and all the tests I have to have done. So next month should be interesting.

I'm so thankful that she is doing all the tests on me now, after TTC for 6 months. I couldn't go through another 6 months of this, you know?

thank you so much for your concern!! Kathy

Hi Kathy,
I know it is so hard, we truly were thinking about you and you were in my prayers. I am sure that everything is going to be fine and all of this testing will help you in the end. It is so hard not to get sad about this. Just know we understand and we are here for you.
I am sorry you had to endure all this pain but I truly believe the time will come for you and all of us who are trying. Sending lots of hugs your way.

Kathy --

It is so good for you to have all these tests done. Now you will be pro-active and will know if there are any problems and how to work them out. I had to lie to my Dr. and tell her we had been trying for a year (because of my age, I didn't want to wait so long).

My best friend tried for a year, then found out her hormone leves was low, so started taking injections and is now in her 3rd month and doing great!!! She got pregnant by IUI the very first time.

I was about to get the HSG myself when my period did not show up -- so maybe also being proactive and having something else on my mind helped me to conceive, who knows!!

I have heard the HSG does not hurt at ALL, while can be uncomfortable for others. Don't worry, I am sure it will all work out and I am happy that you will be taking the next steps!!

Good luck and lots of and

Thanks girls! I really appreciate it. I'm feeling better today, I think my mini-breakdown yesterday really helped LOL

I feel much better knowing that we're moving along and I will be tested for anything/everything my doctor can think of!

I'm in a much better state of mind today...

Kathy,

Now that I am going to the dr, I am starting to feel a million times better!

When you go in for your HSG (I just had mine this cycle) please remember to take some Advil BEFORE you go in.

Deb, YES I feel so much better just knowing we are addressing the issues now!!

I remember yuo said that about HSG and Advil. Is it bad? I'm nervous!

Mine was not bad AT ALL! The worst part was the anticipation.

I am happy and excited for you KAthy - I feel like this is a new chapter in your TTC book - now at least you will have a better idea of what is going on and soon enough this will all be a thing of the past - and you'll have a little one on the way.

Good Luck and keep us updated!!
