a lot closer to our max than i thought we'd be

how did you cut down on your guest list? i thought we'd just barely hit our minimum and now it looks like we're close to surpassing our max

Start with general family, then move out to people you consider family then closest friends, then friends....the people you rarely speak to or rarely see can be your B list.

Is this for your venue? or are you just trying to figure out your numbers?

I am also having the same problem so my FH and I decided to go over the list and remove those that are not too close to us. I am also way over my limit.

Try to cut out anyone you haven't spoken to in the past 6 months. And I agree, cutting out work people is a good idea. You can always only invited someone with a guest if they're in a serious relationships (to keep from paying for people you dont know who are just there as the date of the night)

People will say no. Originally I thought I woudl invite about 160 people and wound up inviting 186. 50 people RSVPed no. Something to think about. Other than that widdle it down by getting rid of people you are not that close to or by not allowing people to bring guests or children, etc

I originally invited 175 and I got about 60 no's. You can always expect no's. I would cut out the people who you aren't really close to. That can save a whole bunch of numbers.

we didnt even add them to the list yet, lol. right now its only my family and family friends, our combined friends and the people my FMIL wants to invite. we havent even asked his dad for a list yet.

venue, we love it, and its a max of 220, which i know we would never hit, but we also dont want to spend our entire budget if possible. itd be nice to have money left for flowers and a dress.

thats the thing, allowing people to bring guests and their children are really adding up. we could cut our friends list by nearly half if we didnt allow them all to bring guests. we've got plenty of time to go over everything, but my FH keeps joking that hopefully we wont still be friends with all these people in two years, lol.

cut out people that you would love to have there, but wouldn't otherwise see regularly.

You can always send a wedding announcement after you have married!

Haha...we were up to 275 then got it down to 240 and now we r right back up to 285! Abour 80% of our guest are out of town so we r expecting many no's...and will hopefully have around 200. I have a lot of first cousins (20) so inviting them all with their husband or guest was a lot. We cut kids out and cut a few 'dates'. I felt bad about this but oh well. Anyway our guarantee is only 175 and I would love if that could happen!!!! Save us $$$$$!!!!

I only invited people with guests if they were married or living together. I had to or else my list would have been severely over. It was already over by 40 people before that!
