A LOT of Slime out There!!!

So I was relaxing last night, and pulled out a singed contract of our reception site to show a friend. I was just eyeballing it when I notice that the site manager had written in HIS handwriting in the tiniest letters imaginable that the contract price did not include gratuities and valet parking.... Here's the thing... My FFIL negotiated the price and believe me, it was supposed to be including all that. I had signed the contract first and sent it to the site manager and he sent it back signed, after having made that little change- that I wasn't supposed to notice!!! I am so annoyed and when FI and I told FIL'S they got angry that this jerk tried to pull a fast one on us!!!! Ahhhh!!! No body is trustworthy!!!!

Phone call needed. It ried my best to avoid this. I wrote everthing done that the vendors promised and stapled to contract after we signed. then compared noted. They are such rats!!!!!!!!!

That is horrible!! Do you live close enough to stop by? I find people have a harder time lying to you and giving you the run around if you are right there in front of their face!!

I hope they don't give you a hard time when you show the change to them. It's so annoying that this exciting time of planning has to be ruined by someone trying to make money. Good luck and let us know how everything goes.

If you signed BEFORE he made the changes, then you're not bound by them. The only problem - can you prove you signed before he made the changes?? Usually handwritten changes to contracts require both parties to inital the change. If he changed the contract after you signed, then legally you do not have to abide by his changes. It's hard to prove that, though.

That stinks! Did you make and keep a copy of the contract after you signed it? I make sure I copy any contract I signed before I mail it back to anyone. I wish I was able to trust everyone but I know in reality people aren't always that honest. Luckily I haven't needed my copies so far!

That is so sneaky of the guy. He is in need of a phone call.

When we signed our contract we brought his aunt and my father with us. My dad read the contract first before we signed it and his aunt scanned it with a microscope. When both were pleased with the contract then they allowed FI and I to sign.

The Banquet manager looked at us like we were nuts, but when it comes to contracts you have to.

This guy is in desperate need of a phone call

If he made this change after you signed then it is not valid. Did you make a copy after you signed?
