a mental meltdown this way comes

a mental meltdown this way comes

I have just HAD IT! I feel like I'm just gonna lose it any day now. I swear i feel like my manager and co manager are purposely trying to get me to flip my lid. I was supposed to have off tuesday and wednesday...i come in on monday and my schedule has cross outs and hand written changes. they switched my wednesday to thursday and had me as working at a different location, closing instead of opening...funny...nobody called to ask or tell me. then later on monday my manager asks me to come in on tuesday 'for a few hours just to help out' so i said 'i might be able to do it' so she says 'see how ur feeling when u wake up and call and let us know when ur coming in' ( i was working til midnight and was feeling sick) so on tuesday morning (they were going in at 7am) I woke up with a fever and said to myself...I'll meet them at like 8:30...at about 8 i get a call from my manager saying 'are you going in?' so i said 'yeah I'm getting ready to leave right now' so she says 'are you working a full shift?' so i tell her no because i have an appointment later in the day and I'm not feeling well...I just wanted to help for a few hours. she tells me that its no point for me to come in for a few hours if i'm not gonna work a full shift because she needs me for a full shift. so I took my day off. worked the other location today...she calls me at the other location and says 'you don't know how to pick up your phone?' so I'm like 'excuse me' she says 'we've been calling you forever' to which i reply 'i have no missed calls and no voicemails' and she says 'you wouldn't like it if you called us and we didn't respond.' and i repeated myself about not having any missed calls. She proceeds to tell me that I have to work at another different location tomorrow. Then she asks when my days off were and i say 'just yesterday' and she says in a raised voice 'when were you planning to tell me that I messed up the schedule and u need a day off?!' and i tell her 'well I saw that you crossed it out on the schedule so I assumed you were aware of what you were asking of me.

soooo i only get one day off this week...did i mention I'm salaried...so basically I'm working for free because my manager offered our stores services. I am pissed because neither of the other managers is giving up their day off and they keep telling everyone 'call Melody'. so whatever...THEN I get a call from ANOTHER location asking me to work there tomorrow...and get this...she says 'your manager told me to call you' HELLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOO does she not realize she already volunteered me to go to the other location??? *** if she's gonna volunteer to help all these stores why doesn't she get off her own *** and go do it! I am DONE! and to top it all off i get a call from an associate asking me to pls speak to the district manager on her behalf because she is on the verge of quitting and she doesn't feel comfortable talking to the other managers about it. I'm gonna blow tf up. OHHHH AND HERE'S ANOTHER KICKER...I'M CLOSING EVERY NIGHT NEXT WEEK INCLUDING 3 OVERNIGHTERS (9PM TO 5AM) IN A ROW!!!!!!!!!

Sorry Melody .... don't really know what else to say. I guess looking for something else is out of the question? This is a fairly new job, right? Or were you trying to find something else and didn't? Can't quite remember. Hope it gets better!!!!!

i have and its like and the thing is...I'm not crazy about the situation bc all of the associates are saying the same thing. last wk one of the associates said to me 'i don't know why I'm telling you this...but I think you're very nice...ur a good person and ur fair to us...but I think the other two are very mean to you and you don't deserve that' other associates have told me that they do this to all the new management members...they tell me that they gossip about me often...speak negatively about me out in the open for all to hear.

how are we going to be a united front in management when you've got two managers gossiping like schoolgirls?!?!

its been a bit over 5 months...but i knew from the first week it wasn't right...just worried abou finding another job that will grant me my two weeks for the honeymoon. I don't want to jump into something that might also not be right for me just to get out of where I am because thats what landed me in this mess.

ummmmm is there an employee manual? i would check it to make sure ur not getting screwed out of OT, nightly premium,etc.. thats such bshhhhyt. do not take crap from any1. ur manager is obvioulsy overwhelmed and making tons of mistakes, and obviously shes giving u a hard time cuz shes a miserable c----------

dont be confrontational , but pull her aside and talk to her. If shes changing ur schedule on you, then thats HER problem..not yours.

dont let them take advantage of you. what are they guna do? fire u? you didnt do anythign wrong..

and about them calling you on you cell phone, if its more than once a day, bill them

You need to call your regional/district manager and get this straightened out. This woman has a vendetta against you and is trying to get you fired.

may i ask what kind of job this is? retail?

most jobs will give u 2 weeks off if u tell them you have a prior engagement. I can hook you up with work if you're miserable where you are. ive spent wayyyyy too many years being upset/crying over a job where i wasnt happy at. its not worth a potential wrinkle!

I have also and its making me cry even more now because I don't want to going into a marriage still working the same ole bs jobs. granted...its paying the bills...but barely...and $45k is not enough for me to make myself available around the clock and eat sleep, breathe and **** that company. theyre gonna hafta pay me a whole lot more than that if they want me to live for my job...and even then...I wouldn't. my priority in life is my family...my future husband.

eta: it is retail...and if you have any opportunities...I'd deffinately be interested

Melody I would love to help you find somewhere else to work. I am just so disgusted by the lack of appreciation they have for you.

Lets find something for you - something really good - so you can go out in a blaze of glory.

I commented before on this, but i am still sitting here, just stunned.

I am so sorry that you are going through this. Honestly to me it looks like she is trying to either fire you or get you pissed off enough that you will quit. I would consider either transferring to a different location or talking to your DM about this. Unless you are not too thrilled with the company as a whole. If thats the case maybe you will consider looking for a new job

melody that is awful they are overworking you and trying to take advantage of you for whatever reason- maybe there are trying to drive you out of there I am sorry you have to go through this is there anyone you can talk to in management that is over their heads (being that many people are unhappy- maybe a group of you can get to together and approach this) hope it works out

Soo sorry you're going through this. I hate managers like that! This is not your life it's your job. You need to get out of there and go somewhere else where the is a better work/life balance and better communication. I've been in a similar situation to you before and it just makes you feel like a bitter angry person and you shouldn't be. Get Away from that crazy job!

Wow what a$$holes they r over there!

I agree that u should look for a new job asap. U can talk to them but thet probably won't change their ways.

I say u have nothing to lose by looking for a new job. U don't have to accept any offer unless it is right for YOU! Also tell the new job up front what days u need off!
