I liked it, but thought 'best in Show' was way better.

I’m having a hard time deciding which one I liked more. Best in Show was definitely funnier, but A Mighty Wind had such great songs, and the characters were so funny and sad at the same time.

I've been dying to see it! It's a Coen Bros. movie, right? I usually try to see anything they put out, but I missed this one... will have to rent it this weekend. Glad to hear it was funny! I loved O Brother Where Art Thou... still cracks me up every time.

Re: A Mighty Wind
It's not a Coen Bros. movie...but O Brother is one of my absolute favorites!
ETA: The latest Coen movie, I think, is Intolerable Cruelty - very good PLUS George Clooney!

Re: A Mighty Wind
Speaking of newer Coen Brothers movies, they also wrote Bad Santa, which I thought was hilarious.
And they have another movie coming out soon, with Tom Hanks.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Coen Brothers, especially the Big Lebowski and O Brother...

I didn't know they did Bad Santa! I am usually anti-Billy Bob, but now I will have to see this movie.

I usually don't like him either. But he was pretty funny in Bad Santa.

I love all of Christopher Guest's movies and thought _A Mighty Wind_ was so funny! I especially liked Fred Willard's character. Have you seen _Waiting for Guffman_ too? That one is hilarious!

Fred Willard is the funniest one in that movie! FH and I make our 4 year old niece say “Hey, Wha happened? I can’t do my work!” all the time and it cracks us up every time she says it!
I did see Waiting for Guffman, but I didn’t find it as funny as the other two movies…

That is so funny about your niece! Adorable! My other favorite character is the nervous concert organizer who thinks that people are going to trip over the floral arrangements! I better watch out for that problem at my wedding!

Re: A Mighty Wind
I just watched some of it again, for about the 10th time at least. The DVD extras are great, especially the 'concert.' And the deleted scenes are a riot, my fave being the one where the woman says 'One time my friend asked me if I wanted to play the piccolo, but I said no.' Don't know why but that cracks me up!
