I'm asking my junior bridesmaids to make our card box. I've started saving up magazines and will purchase beads ribbons and silk flowers....they will both be 9 years old and will make something really cool. I know it won't look extra beautiful, but it will definitely be a fun way for them to contribute and that's important to me.

What a nice way of including them! I don't have any junior bm's, but if I did....I would definitely use this idea

That is incredibly sweet!

DH and I wish we had. We didn't do anything, so people kept handing DH envelopes the entire night. There were so many we were afraid we had lost one. Imagine if an envelope of cash--or worse yet, a check--with all the giver's sensitive information--were lying on the floor for anyone to pick up. We were able to make a couple of stops at the RH safe, but not frequently enough for peace of mind. Fortunately, none were lost in our case.
Other posters have suggested that the card box be put behind the head/sweetheart table, where you or people you trust can keep an eye on it. Someone can empty it and put it in the safe, too.
