A 'no' with a gift

So my great uncle declined since my aunt has dementia (they live in florida and FH and I saw them in may and it was really sad to see), so they send us a $150 check.

Do I write a thank you now, or later????

i'm doing all my 'no' gifts ahead of time, so that i have a few less to do after the wedding.

especially if it's a check - bc if we're going cash it right away, definitely want to send a TY.

I did it now - may follow with a photo TY if I remember

Good Idea, I don't wanna cash the check and then wait 3 months to send a thank you.

I made sure to thank those gifts now, but they will get my formal thank you wiht photo later!!!

Thanks for reminding me. I have a few more to thank... although at this point, i think i can wait... i have 5 days left.....

I sent thank you cards right away to those who declined but sent gifts. I didn't want to be rude and not acknowledge their gifts (or have them think that I wasn't grateful).

I sent a little thank you card right away but I plan on sending a second one with our wedding photo when they're ready
