People sometimes get married from what they thought might be a one night stand!

I once dated a 'one-night stand' for almost 3 years. Didn't work out in the end. Then...I met DH

Never had a one nite stand! But, I did meet my FH at a bar, where I never thought I would meet a serious boyfriend. I just don't get too physically involved too soon because it just hurts all the more if nothing comes of it.

I have found that men call less after you hook up the first nite you meet them...My FH explained it to me as, if you are doing this with him the first night, you are probably easy and doing it with lots of other guys too!

Couldn't the same logic be applied to the guy??

I'm sure! Actually FH would do no more than kiss me our first date to (in his words) leave me wanting more!

Yes me
I wouldn't say it was a one night stand in that there was no hanky panky but I did go home to his apartment that night. Not sure why - I think that I just wanted to not be by my lonesome that night. I was going through major medical problems when I met DH and that was making me depressed so being with him made me feel better and I didn't want the night to end I guess.

But he called the very next day, and the next, and next....

ETA: and I met him at a bar, but he was best friends with a guy who was dating my friend, so sooner or later we would have met.

I dated a guy I met in a bar for 6 months. I don't remember how I met him I just remember him calling me the next day and asking me out. So, maybe your boring life is not so bad!!! I am pretty boring now, too.

from a guy's point of view..

if she's too easy.. she's probably not worth it.

i have a friend who's done the bar pickup/one nite stand much too often. he has grown out of it to the point where he wants a REAL realtionship.. which makes me happy.

though there are exceptions to all of this..

some one niters last a lifetime.

but in general, I think they last a short time.

When I met my FI - I don't remeber it was at a college party - and I was so drunk - I stayed the night with him - did not sleep with him - but i had no intention of dating him - i did not care if i saw him or not- i actually try to hide from him - but that was my MO in college - did not want to date - he was persistant and we have been together for over 4 years now - it can work- and oh he was so drunk he does not know how we met - we are always trying to find information out from friends to this day what happened - i am waiting for my bachelorette party for pics to come from that night

yep, i agree with OctGroom, it's all about challenge and mystery. if you give away the 'happy ending' at the beginning of the story -- why stick around to see the rest of the movie?

See?

my co-worker! She met her FH in a bar and thought he would only be a one night stand. Now they have been together for 7 years and are getting married in October!

I've had a few relationships that should have been one night stands.

I slept with DH after 1 week of hanging out non stop with him and NEVER thought we'd have a real relationship
