Sorry to be the black sheep but i disagree completely - he molested young kids & was weird with his own - i dont wish death on anyone -his music in the beginning was great - but he wasnt a wonderful person. JMO
I dont know why but it bothers me when people go straight to that when you think of all he has done throughout his career. I think of it like this.... Was MJ lonely?...YES....was he disturbed??? PROBABLY was it innapropriate of him to think it was ok to ahve little kids in his bed? ABSOLUTELY..but MJ was a manchild!!! and he never denied that. I truly believe he never wanted to harm anyone ESPECIALLY children. He was a tortured soul who truly believed in the theory of NEVERLAND. i am competely saddened that this is how some remmeber him. iLL always remember him as the LEGEND he will always be...The King of Pop... RIP

If I may respectfully disagree with you Dana, he was acquitted of those charges. I really believe those people were after his money. I believe that being thrust into the spotlight at such a young age (he was working non stop since the age of 5) cause him to stop developing socially and therefore he remained in a childlike state into his adult life. I believe thats why he was obsessed with children, leading him to behaviors that any well adjusted adult would know is inappropriate. I'm glad his soul is finally at peace after all the turmoil he had going on inside himself...

I agree with you, Stacy. He was robbed of his childhood. I truly believe his relationships with children were an attempt to recover what he had lost and relive his youth through a child. I dont believe he molested them! It's very sad what happened to him

He was a genuinely nice guy and people took advantage of him. I agree he was robbed of his childhood.

Re: A PART OF ME HAS DIED TONIGHT
First, I truly have no opinion as to whether or not he committed any illegal acts. I do love his music, without a doubt.
From a legal perspective... some of you questioned why parents would take money instead of prosecuting him to the end. It all comes down to proof, and unfortunately, the likelihood of a jury conviction. The molestation would have to be proved BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT. That is such a high burden of proof. Moreover, when you're dealing with such a high profile figure, it is nearly impossible to get an impartial jury. For all the jurors to be convinced beyond a reasonable doubt based on the proof that the prosecution has presented.... it's just incredibly unlikely. I can't imagine that there was ANY concrete evidence in this case. I don't know that for sure, of course, but I would think it was all 'victim' testimony and circumstantial evidence. While you can get a conviction based solely on circumstantial evidence, it is far less likely in such a case. I'm sure the parents felt that it wasn't worth the risk of winding up with an acquittal (assuming, of course, they actually believed he was guilty).
Again, this is JMO - actually, JMLO (L for Legal lol)... I didn't follow the accusations or trial in this instance. Sorry for being so 'lawyerly' i promise i will keep that to a minimum. I guess I just get compelled to say something when i see questions like that
To Jayepyt: MJ clearly meant so much to you - try not to get distracted by the inevitable discussions of crminal accusations.

I personally DO NOT believe that he molested children. But everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I respect everyone of them.
The only that bothers me is how the people who believe he did it can give any credibility to the parents who accepted a 'pay-off' instead of continuing to help prosecute him. If you were the parent wouldn't you want to see him punished?
Also, what does that say to the child? If the child really was molested, how horrible of an example is that setting and wouldn't that child feel like what happened to him doesn't really matter?
I agree.

I too bypass those things that he was accused of! Although I NEVER will agree with child molestation, but then again ppl are mean and they probably just wanted to sue him for all the money he had! I love Michael and I think he has gone though alot as a child and he i think he loved children so much because of their innocence and he never really got to be a kid! I LOVE MJ and always will! HE IS WAS and WILL be the GREATEST!!!!!
I am also taking this hard and can't believe this happened! Everyone is entitled to their opnion...but let's just be mindful of others feelings.
Hang in there Jay
thanks i will i just dont understand if he was a molester than y would the parents settle for money if some one raped my child i wouldnt want no damn money i would want that ******* to suffer in jail
EXACTLY. These people just wanted to take advantage of him. He was completely oblivious to what was going on. He just genuinely loved children. He also didn't have much of a childhood himself so I think that definitely played a part of how he acted as an adult.
he gives me butterflies

This was def unexpected and very sad. In a 24 hour period we lost 3 icons from diff decades. Two were sick and were expected, but MJ...wow.
It's not just about him, who he was, what may or may not have happened, Its the entertainment, the music, what it represented to us when we were young. It brought people together like no one has before or sine, its where we were when we rocked to it and who we were then. He's an icon and a part of many people's lives. I can't remember music or music videos before him. Its a huge loss for the entertainment industry.
