A Peek in the Pod

A Peek in the Pod

I just saw this advertisement in Newsday - This place in Manhattan will do 3D & 4D sonograms and put them on CD, DVD or Video

I wish I knew about them last summer

A Peek in the Pod

My dr never did anything more than 2D but I have seen some of the 3D & 4D and they are amazing!

I just saw a segment on the news about this earlier this week. I'm not sure if it was local to the D.C. area or if it was on a national news show (I wasn't paying attention to that). The segment showed a couple getting a 4-D sonogram, it was wild! You could totally see the baby's facial features VERY clearly. It seemed like it was finding out what the baby looked like before delivery. The reporter said that those sonograms are not covered by insurance, so its totally an out of pocket expense. And they quoted doctors as saying that they didn't recommend getting this done without checking with them first.

I don't know if I would do it or not but it was really cool to see.

We went for a 3-D sonogram but if the baby is not positioned exactly right you get nothing more than a blurring 2-D image. Molly, of course, hated her photo taken while I was pregnant and was backwards! So we got nothing.

My obgyn does the 3D at her place. I am so excited, I cannot wait for my first sonogram on the 18th
