A photo history of Summerbride's hair and plead for help!

Some background: I get stuck in the same hair styles for months...those months turn into years. For YEARS I had bangs

And yes my hair was that awful blonde! The reason for the bangs- I have a big forehead. I dont care..I've accepted my big forehead, but I always covered it up.

Finally, I decided to try the side bangs. They're nice but they cause a problem because I have a really bad cowslick (or whatever its called) so its a PITA to the keep it from sticking up.

For the past two years..I've worn my hair clipped back like so:

I havent got a haircut since February 08 and my hair has awful split ends and its just dead and gross.

So now after having all of 3 hair styles in the past 10 years...I need something new. it doesn't have to anything crazy. No Victoria Beckham's haircut (I love it but could NEVER pull it off)
So now its time to get a haircut and SLIGHTLY change my hair. (Dont want to chop it all off before the wedding)

And ignore the bleach blonde...it was a phase

I think your hair color and length now are just SO pretty and fitting for you. If you trimmed it a little, angled it, and got some sideswept bangs, I bet it would look really great :).

ETA: You don't want to cut too much off because you don't want to have any regrets before your wedding!

I have the same problem with the cowlick it's horrible. My hair is very Fine too, have you ever tried some layers? It really gives those with fine hair some body...

I think this would be great!!!! And for now I would go a little darker. My hair always looks/feels healthier when it's darker since the chemical process for lightening hair is so abusive. Then if you want it lighter closer to the wedding do it then. My hair color makes me look SO PALE right now but I don't care because it is so much healthier. I got 4 inches chopped off the week before my hair trial and she was still able to do SO many things with it!!!

i personally really liked the second pic where your hair was shorter and angled.... JMHO.

I agree about adding some layers... I think your hair looks nice and I also like the style in the blonde photo... you could always do something like that, but with your current hair color. Just one small thing - at some point last year I got really frustrated with my hair and decided to chop it off and get it around shoulder length (it was a lot longer), and I really regretted it because it took FOREVER to grow back. So, don't do anything too drastic before the wedding, especially if you'll want curls (becuase they look different depending on how long your hair is!)

I agree with the layers framing the face. Do you have a hairdresser that you go to? If not I can suggest my salon to you. Just make sure that when you do go, wherever you go, have the hairdresser look at your hair when you first get there and it's dry so that she can hear your concerns/requests while seeing how your hair is. It's hard once it's wet.

Thanks girls!!!!!!!!! I love the Reese witherspoon haircut! thanks for posting that heather. I think I might try for the sideswept bangs...i just worry because the last time I got them they were too long and looked horrible.

I think your hair color is really pretty, and I actually can totally picture you with short hair and sideswept bangs--I think that would look awesome.

I do think I remember you saying at some point that you wanted long hair for your wedding.. so I think sideswept bangs would look great with your length too!

I like the side swipe bangs look. It might be a 'change' for you too, since you've been pinning it back. Hey, it'll always grow out! Keep us posted!!

I actually like the bangs back the way you have them now. Every time I get side swept bangs, I hate them!!

Anyway, my hair was very much like yours in now before my wedding and I'm glad I kept it that way because I changed my idea of what I wanted for my hair two weeks before my wedding. There is no way I could have done with my hair what I did if I had shorter bangs or layers. It's worth it for the next few months to get a trim and then change afterwards.

Now, three months after my wedding my hair is super short with bangs and I'm waiting for it to grow out but it was great for a change.
