A piece of advice for those who haven't had showers yet:
Make sure a lot of the stuff on your registry is IN STOCK IN THE STORES!!!!!!!
Apparently A LOT of the items on my registry weren't available in the stores, or were on backorder. So some people said they had a hard time finding a lot of things, which leaves several items on my registry still unpurchased.
For instance, since my china is a brand new pattern, I didn't get any of the serving pieces. I received all of the place settings, but none of the servingware.
Just an FYI....

I have thought of this too!!! A few things I know are not in stock and only ever say availble only in stores.
All of our everyday flatware is only available at Macys. I am so afraid we arn't going to get it!

well when you go into the stores you can print out your registry and it will say on there what is or isn't available in that particular store.
doesn't help when say... half the gift givers live in Michigan though.

Exactly. Apparently when my guests went to the stores, a lot of the items weren't actually available in the stores

I did not register at BBB for this reason. I had 2 showers in september and when I went to BBB to get the gifts that the registry I printed out said that they had - the store was out of stock! It took me 3 HOURS to find gifts for these 2 showers because everything that I wanted to by was out of stock! AND I shop early, so almost everything was on the registry. . . . .

i anticipate most of my family ordering online and having it shipped to NY anyhow. you can still use the coupons if you go into the store and having them place the order online for you.

I know a few items (my silverware) takes forever to come in! Someone bought 2 settings for us as an engagement gift... it took 4 months for them to come in! i am just hoping people will give us GC or will order and have shipped to us and put a picture of it in a card or something. (thats what they did with the silverware).

i had the same thing happen. so annoying! the major problem is when you add things online. if you scanned it in the store...chances are it will be there. but not everything online is in the store and then you get lots of 'see associate' when they print out the registry in the store
