well, Ive noticed that I had a few items added to my registry but not items that i didnt necessarily register for.. but the item in a different brand.
For example I have an apple divider on their I looked at my registry and i saw 2 different ones listed... at first I thought maybe i had not realized I had it on there and then added it again (different brand) but then i realized that it says
0 requested, 1 purchased and the other 1 requested , 0 purchased
so this is 1 of 2 things, the person just saw ANY apple divider and bought it (not that I care) or picked the cheaper one to buy
OR
They bought one for themself and it appeared on my registry..
so now i deleted the one not purchased so that I dont get 2 but now Im thinking what if the person just bought it for themself? oh boy... what confusion... at least its not a big item like a toaster

the same thing happened to me- and as my shower got closer random things started appearing such as a pack of gum. Sometimes i think they just add everything the person is buying that day- even if its not for you.

i think they def do.. whatever is bought goes on there, they should have to scan the reg and only things on there should come off.. even if someone decides to buy you something not on it
because strange things can happen like 2 different items of the same thing appearing on there and people buy you gifts are going to be like HUH?

LOL - some HILARIOUS things appeared on my registry b/c BBB scanned things people were buying simultaneously for themselves. I had a snickers bar, but the best was a 'monkey keychain' whatever that means!

I'm afraid to look at my registry. Is it bridezilla of me to be afraid to look because if I see that I'm not getting much, I will be upset!? I hate to be like that but I am hoping my shower is like any that I've been to: WALL TO WALL with gifts!!!!!

that is hilarious!!! did you delete that stuff or are you just leaving on there because its funny?
i just always think of those few people that just dont get that it got on there because someone bought it while they were buying you seomthing and they are thinking why did they reg for a money keychain.. they are so wierd

wait, if someone buys something NOT on your registry the same time as they buy your gift, and the check out person scans the registry for both purchases, the thing NOT on the registery will become part of your registry???? at all stores? never heard of this!!! can you just delete them if this happens?

I don't think it happens everywhere, but it DEF happens at BBB. It shows up that you did not request 1, but 1 was purchased. You can delete it though - I did!

yeah say someone goes to buy you soemthing off your registry and they are there and see something they need Ex a shower curtain... and they give the cashier your registry to scan in and then they purchase the curtain with the registry item it will show up on your registry as REQUESTED 0 PURCHASED 1
you can just go in and edit it, check the box next to it and then click update registry and it will delete it

that is so wrong! the computer / scanner should know it's not on your reg and ignore it. I registered at BBB and Macys so I guess I will have to look out for this... great .. one more thing to do... but it does give me an official reason to look at it.
As an aside ... I have been in the midst of registering for about 2 months I did a lot online and then I went to Macys at the end of march, and to bbb on sat. i noticed on sat., when i printed out the macys one to see what i had there and compare it with bbb before i went, that someone bought my silverware! It had to have been my mom or sister since they are the only ones who know about it, really! it was kinda cool to know it was gone!

yeah don't look, i did as was disappointe in the end not that I didnt get great stuff but it was still disappointing
