A Q for those of you who registered for fine china...

A Q for those of you who registered for fine china...

Did you register for all of the pieces or just those you thought you would use?

We didn't register for the whole set. We didn't register for the 'coffee pot' because neither FH nor I drink coffee, and we figured if we happened to serve coffee it would be fine coming from whatever coffee maker we happen to have. I did register for the creamer and sugar because they were so adorable. I keep sugar in the sugar bowl and use it when I make tea. We also didn't register for the tall mugs, because I can't really see myself drinking anything that would need a tall mug in our formal china. We do have some really pretty trendy mugs that I use all the time, but I felt it unnecessary for our china.

My pattern doesn't have as much stuff as some others, but if it did have a covered veggie bowl and some other serving pieces other patterns do we would have registered for those.

We registered for the 5 piece place setting, sugar and creamer and some platters but other then that that is all. I felt the same way about the other stuff

Honestly, we registered for a lot of the additional pieces, but I ended up returning them. I couldn't fathom keeping a $300 covered dish that matched my set, when I could get a beautiful plain white one for $50. So I returned the few serving pieces that I got and finished off the place settings that I didn't get.

Fortunoff was doing a special with my set and it came with a bunch of the pieces so I didn't have to register for any more pieces. I probably would have registered for the pieces i thought were necessary though...not all of them. I figure you can add them over time if you feel you need them?

my pattern doesnt come with a lot of things..no gravy boat, no S&P shakers, no platter. since it is fairly new.

I dont expect to get everything but hopefully for birthdays and christmas we will be able to add on!

I do want to say that I still havent gotten my kkitchenaid mixer or our knives! Arghhh!

Fine china is something you might one day pass down to your children! It might be nice to have the complete set.

We registered for everything in our pattern. The tea pot, salt/pepper shakers, all the platters, bowls etc.
At first we weren't going to but the lady helping us just went crazy with the scanner and told us we HAVE to add them. So we just didnt argue lol

we didn't register for everything, only the stuff we thought we'd use. MIL ended up buying all the extra stuff she thought we would want to have with it, like the S&P shakers, sugar bowl, creamer. i think the only thing we didn't get was the coffee pot. she moved me to tears with that one.

mine doesn't either! Just the 5pc place settings, one platter, one open veg bowl, one all-purpose bowl (small), creamer/sugar, accent plates, a coffeepot and tall mugs. we registered for all but the coffeepot and mugs.

i dont know if i would have registered for the S&P shakers, prob not, but I would have registered for the gravy boat, the covered veg bowl, another platter (some have a big and a small), etc.

Do you think they will add more to your pattern eventually, or is just smaller? I'd be excited if they added more to ours
