a question

Okay ladies, I need some advice here. My hall provides centerpieces for the tables. Do you think it matters whether or not I use their florist for the bouquets? If I use 2 different florists, will it be a problem? Thanks!

Re: a question

Katebug, I have the same issue, my hall provides me with centerpieces BUT I am using Burton's for my bouquets. When I set up my centerpieces I was pretty limited to what I could choose (very frustrating at first) but then I decided I will take that flower (yellow roses) and add them to my bouquets. No one will notice that they aren't exactly the same and how many people have pics of their centerpieces in their wedding pictures! Not many, your bouquets will be seen in MANY pics.

Hope this helps!
Stacey

Re: a question

I am planning on using two florists because WM makes you use one of their florists for the centerpieces which is b-s IMO. A family friend will make my boquets at cost. I don't know if this will go over well with the scotto florist but whatever

Re: a question

I guess that is the price you pay for getting your centerpieces included in the price of the hall, they choose the florist. Which makes sense if you think about it, they have a history with that certain florist and are able to provide you with the centerpieces with limits of course. I worried about it for a bit but in my opinion it really isn't worth it.

Re: a question

DCBRIDE- What are the choices of florists that the WM gives you? Is Burtons one of them?

Re: a question

Our reception place also provided the flowers for our centerpieces. We chose another local florsit for the bouquests and bouts. I didn't think it made a difference. I do think though that if you stay with the house florist, you may get a really nice price on the rest of your flowers. Just a thought.

Re: a question

I am also getting married at WM but am not using their florists. I was told that even though they say you 'have' to use their florists, you really don't. I guess I better get on the horn and find out because if not, I am in big trouble.

Re: a question

In our contract it says that you must use one of their house florists--Spitz and Peck, Pedetals, the scotto one and I forget the other one. I know they are probably the most expensive ones. They gave some ridiculous reason about not having enough room for all of the florist trucks but FH really wants the wedding there so I am sure everything will work out fine.

I have to pay for the flowers 100 % and use one of the florists Westbury manor (not Water Mill) tells me to.

Re: a question

Im also at a scotto bros. hall (Fox Hollow) and I will get a $10.00 credit/table towards centerpieces if I use one of thier florists. If I don't use a house florist I don't get the credit but I can use whichever florist I want.

I wouldn't worry about using 2 different florists at all. No one will notice if they aren't exact.

Re: a question

Our hall offered that also, but we decided to go with a different florist. Since we're not using the house florist, we get money off per table. Hope this helps! Good luck!

OH, I see. I get my centerpieces included with Smithtown Landing but I pay nothing, I am just limited to as to what I get with their florist.

Re: a question

I checked our contract but it didn't say anything about that. But - the only thing I could find was the piece of paper that we signed when we gave our deposit. We are going to a wedding there in a couple of weeks so I'll find out when we go.

I just looked at my contract again and saw it. Now I have a big problem since I already booked another florist. Thanks for pointing that out to me.
