A Question About Theme

Although there are 640 days 23 hours 6 minutes and 46 seconds to our wedding day... we're jotting a lot of ideas down and getting the overall theme to our wedding together and looking at different things just to get a feel for the wedding.

So far FH and I have decided that our colors are turquoise and rose (originally I said no pink, but I like these two colors together for Spring) and our theme will butterflies.

So, I've been searching the web for butterfly related items... we can have: butterfly mint tins, butterfly invitations, butterfly place card holders, butterfly cookies or other butterfly related favors...

Like chickp asked... How much is TOO much... I don't want everyone to be all: WE. GET. IT. YOUR. THEME IS BUTTERFLIES. but I do want to incorporate it into the wedding.

I'll be making the STDs, the programs and the menus and possibly the invitations... how should I accent it without it becoming overpowering?

You could do your cake something like this.

Have your invitations with a butterfly favor tag, as was said butterflies in your bouquet, butterfly hairpins for your bridesmaids

Those would all be simple elegant touches that would enhance teh butterfly theme without going to over kill

i'm not sure how much it cost or what side of the PETA spectrum you're on, but, how about a butterfly release?
