A question for newlyweds

Was there anything you bought as a little touch to the day that you now regret spending the money on? Ex. Flip flop basket, photo booth and props, bride/groom chair signs, hotel bag stuff, creative guest book...

Trying to see which of these little things are worth the money and which aren't

A question for newlyweds - Long Island Weddings

I spent way too much money on the bathroom baskets. Most of the stuff wasn't even touched. My mom returned a lot of it, but I still have a lot leftover.

The photobooth was 10000% worth it. EVeryone loved it and those are some of my fav pics from my entire wedding.

I didn't do flip flop baskets and no one seemed to miss them.

I didn't have a guestbook and I don't regret not having one.

I also didn't do a guestbook, the bathroom basket and flip flop basket. Noone missed it and I was happy not to spend money on something that wasn't a necessity for the wedding.

Photo booth was way more popular than I expected! I figured only young people would like it but older guests loved it too! Flip flop basket was a waste.

A question for newlyweds - Long Island Weddings

I skipped the bathroom baskets and flip flop basket. Save your money! Don't go crazy with the extras. I'm still trying to get rid of stuff LOL

We had a photobooth & it was a hit w/ both young and old crowd.

A question for newlyweds - Long Island Weddings

I didn't do the flip flop basket or favors. And I don't think they were missed.

I would say I regret not having a videographer! I didn't want to spend the money on it but now I'm kind of wishing I had a video. Just something to consider!

Re: A question for newlyweds

Flip flop basket was soo worth it!

Ask your hall if they provide bathroom baskets. We bought so much for them, and it turned out that the hall provided everything.

I also made copies of a little note to our guests from DH and I to put on each person's setting. Waste of money.

Definetely did not do cry packs. Was not something so many people were going to need so I saved on that.

A question for newlyweds - Long Island Weddings

I made wedding wands and my guests did not use them. I also made bathroom baskets and not everything was used. I'm not sure if it was really needed. I'm happy I did not spend too much on them because I purchased most of the items from the dollar tree including the basket.
I wanted to do flip flop basket but my sister suggested that I shouldn't waste my money on that.

A question for newlyweds - Long Island Weddings

I was dancing up a storm at a wedding once and the spaghetti strap on my dress popped!! The bathroom basket's safety pins saved me! I'm gonna do a basket but I'm going to buy travel size items so if they are not used I didn't spend a fortune!

A question for newlyweds - Long Island Weddings

Definitely skip the bathroom baskets-- such a waste of money! BUT-- keep a few emergency items on hand (safety pins, bandaids, pepto, tums) in the bridal suite.
