A question for the gents

A question for the gents

Ok gentlemen:

Why is it when you are in pain, you will whine about it, but not do anything for it, i.e., take tylenol or call the doc???

Re: A question for the gents

because Tylenol costs money and we have to help our women pay their shopping bills.

Just Kidding!

I think it's a macho thing.

It's like-->

Yeah, we hurt..
Yeah.. it sucks....

But pain is a part of life and we'll deal with it.

Sometimes in the male mind.. to admit pain is to admit weakness.

OK, but then why continue to whine about it??

DH woke me up @ 2 a.m. because the toothache he has had for the past 3 days has really started to get to him. He said, 'It hurts so bad I want to strangle someone.'

I asked if that was the reason why he woke me up.

He didn't find it funny.

A guy likes to show he can take pain.. but that doesn't mean we don't like a little sympathy too sometimes.. LOL

And I think men like to be babied. Why go to a dr. and get better when you can complain and get sympathy and things done for you. They're taught that they should be taken care of by others.

Because if they took the tylenal the pain would go away and they would have nothing to complain about!!!!
My DH does this all the time - its irritating to say the least -

So he finally went to see the dentist.

He called me up at work and I nearly PIMP! He's all full of novocaine and he's upset about the price the dentist charged him. So he's using some not so pretty explitives and can't get them out right.

I'm trying to calm him down, but I can't stop laughing.

I'm actually crying because I laughed so hard.

I whine about my pain alot... but I at least do what it takes to get it better.... go to the docs... take my meds... etc.

Re: A question for the gents

I don't whine when I'm in pain. I have a high tolerance for it. My mom was from germany so they had different beliefs when it came to that stuff. She basically taught us pain is in the mind, and to be strong. So I grew up having this high tolerance for pain, and not showing my feelings. When my mom was dying from cancer the doctors wanted to give her morphine to ease the pain. She of course refused, and never show us once that she was in pain. My son is the same way. Pain doesn't bother him. I know its messed up.
