Did anyone get any special upgrades on your HM because you TOLD them you just were married? (like a upgrade to first class, a better room, a free bottle of wine at dinner, ect)

Our travel agent put the request into the hotel when she made our arrangements, and we did get a better room. I actually asked the airlines if we could get upgraded and got turned down.

We didn't. But we also didn't really advertise it. Both the hotels we stayed at knew we were honeymooners. At the first hotel when we arrived in London they first told us they didn't have a room available yet (it was 10:30 am), but as soon as she pulled up the reservation and saw we were on our honeymoon a room magically became available.

Our travel agent wrote down that we were on our HM. At one of the hotels, they upgraded us to an amazing suite and gave us a basket of fruit, a bottle of wine, and a bottle of ouzo.

Our travel agent also noted it.....there were 82 other HM couples at our resort soooo not really...it was amazing there (little dix bay, virgin gorda)--we got fruit, rum, etc in our room anyway.

well...we didnt get an upgrade... but our story was we booked a already upgraded room...we go to check in and this is what happens
Me: I want to check in Hotel: Its full and we have to downgrade your room and you have to wait Me: Ok (i'm really not)
5 minutes later
Me: Im really not Ok with this. You can see I booked this 4 months ago for my HONEYMOON. We don't think this is fair
Hotel: Hold on 1min later... Mr and Mrs...your room is ready now. We sorry for any incovenice. Congradulations
We took jetblue...not much to upgrade there Our curise, our TA already set up the room with ballons and champagne and stuff.....

Oh we milked it!!
On the flight I tried to get us upgraded, but that hardly ever happens these days (much less planes, so they're almost always packed) and had no luck. Although I got a free bottle of champagne on the flight and special attention.
At the hotel, we basically got amazing service...it was AI so it wouldn't have mattered and the staff knew we were HMing.

We did mention it every time we checked in at the front desk. We got upgraded at one of the hotels to a suite, and at every hotel we got a free bottle of champagne and sweets like chocolate-covered strawberries.

nope. the resort we stayed at knew we were honeymooners b/c our TA told them... and we had to fill out forms when we first checked in. they gave us a free bottle of champagne and couples massages, but that was included anyway for HM'ers.
we didn't ask the airline.

No upgrade on the plane but the TA had noted our honeymoon for the resort so we were upgraded to an ocean front private balcony suite on the top floor at the time we booked. The resort added a lot of cute touches to the room and service because we were on our honeymoon....flowers on the bed with a monogram of our names, free drinks (didn't want the champagne), etc.

OUr TA put 'honeymooners' on our reservations. Nothing special for the flight, but we got enrolled for free in the 'one cool honeymoon' program in Aruba, got a free photo frame, two free tee shirts, and a great oceanview room. Definatly tell your hotel, etc. about the honeymoon part
