A question from an 09-er!(centerpieces)

Hi all my newly married LIW-ers.. or VERRRRY soon to be MARRIED.....

I wanted some information on centerpieces......

As of right now we can't decide if we want to do SHORT OR TALL centerpieces.....

We don't want to spend a FORTUNE on flowers.. but we want them to be nice...

our main color is RED.

just want to ask some ideas on price difference for tall vs short.... as well as some nice centerpieces that go with RED

thank you experienced brides Happy Holidays

I say go short...cheaper and guests can see over them...

We went with short centerpieces.

Another vote for short Cp's. We used the candles we bought for our engagement party again in our wedding Cp's. It allowed guests who took the CP three options.
1) take as is
2) take only candle
3) take only flowers

We used these...only larger..about a dozen roses per CP....and surrounded them with votives. It looked gorgeous!

I think they were about $50-60 each

Kristen,

I can post pics of our red centerpiece after next weekend! I prefer small CPs. Just a personal preference.

Well something to consider is you rh. how big it is etc. High centerpieces look good in a big setting. but if you don't want to spend the money then go with low. I also think that if you have a big place and small centerpieces they'll get lost in the crowd...if they're too many people.

I gotta say, I love the high centerpieces.... I think they are much more dramatic & elegant, and help to decorate the whole room -- not just seen from your seats at the tables

MrsDaniRella had gorgeous flowers

you can always alternate high & low CPs on different tables too!

so much of it depends on the size of your tables, how many people you will have at each table, and how high your ceilings are. If you room has high ceilings, then you can certainly go for tall ones, which might also work well if you have smaller tables. Tall CPs work well on square or round tables. But if you have ovals that are skinny in the middle, it really depends.

We didn't have floral CPs. I didn't want to spend the money and the oval tables weren't big enough to accommodate a wreath to go around the hurricane lanterns. We ended up just having red rose petals scattered on the tables and then each place setting had a favor in front of it. It was dramatic color wise (ivory table linens made the red petals pop) and simple yet elegant. Don't have any photographs of that yet unfortunately... Soon, though, hopefully!

GL!

That's what we did, to break up the look.
Half the tables had high, half had low. I accidentaly ordered an extra centerpiece so a low one went on the bar.

I am actually thinking of doing high and low centerpieces. If you are looking for cost effective then I would say go with low. Because, I'm stuck on having some type of high centerpieces I am doing high/low centerpieces

we had low. when your ready go to your florist and see theres a huge price difference. So high CP were not in our budget. I love the look, but just to pricy. GL it will look beautiful no matter what you choose.

low centierpices are in my buget...but high centerpieces are beautiful! Check out a florist...they usually have tons of books to look through, I know you will find the perfect one that you fall in love with!
