A question to all the pedicure pros on the board.

Hello ladies. I'm a bit of a newbie to the world of professional pedicures. (I've only gotten two in my life, sad I know) So, as summer is arriving I'd like to go. My question is, what should I be bringing with me? I know many people bring their own tools, but I don't know whats needed and where to buy it...

I dont bring anything with me, i did have the razor that i used to bring, but my new place replaces the razor everytime so i dont bring that anymore...

You could bring your own file and such but i think the nippers and clippers are more important.

I have my own manicure kit and I give it to them for pedicures but I have seen the way they sterilize at my place and I dont have a problem if she uses something of hers.....

Verdila- annie nails which is now angel tips in N. massapequa does a new ANGEL SPA pedicure
its awesome, try it
bubbles , saran wrap, like five different lotions and scrubs that smell awesome! a heated chair that you control and it massages you! UP AND DOWN, waves, etc.....

Thanks everyone. I guess I'll call the local places and see if they sell the kits since everyone seems to have gotten theirs from the salon...

Definitely your own file, buffer block and foot scrubbie block! The metal instruments are easier to sterilize than the files!

Don't forget to buy some cheap flip-flops so you don't have to wear paper slippers.

I would NEVER let them use that callus razor scraper thingie on my feet. I thought they were not even allowed to use them but I see that lots of people get it done. They can so easily cut you with it or scrape too much off. Calluses are there for a reason and you dont want them completely gone. I think they can de-uglify a callus enough with the stone and it's much safer.

that razor is not supposed to be used anymore - due to health regulations. I never liked it regardless - the bottom of your feet is hard skin for a reason! The pumice stone works well for me

Maybe it's just the stores I've seen, but do you ever see the employees disinfect the tubs between each use? I've been to cheap and high-end places, and no one seems to sanitize them - gross!!
