I got my bridal gown at Lillettes- purely b/c I fell in love with the gown, but the service in that place S*CKS... Everytime I go in there I feel claustrophobic. When I went for my first fitting I had to WAIT TWO HOURS b/c they were helping some B*tch out that was such a horrible bridezilla... My appt was at 6:30, it was 8:30 when I actually tried the dress on. I was FUMING! And the seamstress kept leaving to help other brides during my fitting. That place is the worst. The only thing good about them is their bridal gown selection.
HOWEVER- I got my bridesmaid dresses and tuxes at Renates in Lindenhurst, and I WISH I got my dress there too... They are truly the nicest people. I must've gone to that store 10 times in the past 6 months. They are FANTASTIC. So helpful, really nice people, and a GREAT selection of bridesmaid dresses (I didn't get to look at the bridal gowns b/c I had already got mine at that point) They are the NICEST people and so patient and NOT AT ALL pushy. I've been to a lot of bridal salons between mine and my friends' weddings and this is by far my favorite on LI.

I've been meaning to do this for a while....

That's so interesting to hear! I got my dress from Lillette's and while their customer service hasn't been incredible, they been pretty accommodating to me as an OOT bride, and they were the only bridal shop to carry my dress. that's awful that they treated you so badly. the last time I was there, the bride before me got there 45 minutes late for her appt and they actually told her they were going to take me first so I wouldn't have to wait another hour.
I'm not sure if Renates changed location or if they've changed ownership, but my mom got her dress for my sister's bat mitzvah there at their merrick location (which no longer exists) and they totally destroyed her dress less than 2 weeks before. they were so nasty to her and refused to admit that they butchered her dress, and she had to scramble around to find one last minute. glad to hear things have changed.

WOW really?? I am really surprised actually.... I havent had a single rude encounter there and i have dealt with pretty much everyone who works there. Melissa has probably been the most helpful... but they are all great!

Love Renates also. The owner is a former employee from the old establishment. Run much differently than before. she is the sweetest lady and she needs prayers from everyone right now....her husband is very sick.
But I highly recommend them also. I didn't notice that they have tuxes there...need to check that out....thanks

Who were you working with at Lillettes?
I'll be honest, I have received pretty good service since I went there. Pat has been helping me. . I think she is wonderful. When I was with my BMs trying on dresses, they wanted to see my gown . ..so she pulled it out and helped me put it on, even though she was really busy.
Its crazy how different people can have such different experiences in one place, right? Weird, its probably all who you are dealing with! Sorry you had a bad experience, I'll have to tell people to ask for Pat when I recommend Lillettes to them!!! hug:

I too have nothing but good to say about Renate's. I went in there a few times and met with Melissa, and she was so nice, so accommodating. Although they didnt carry my BM dress there to try on, we still ordered from there. I also had a not so pleasant experience at Lillette's. The lady was so pushy, and rude. Not a fan at all...

Re: A RANT (Lillettes) and a RAVE (Renates)
hey dress twin
i hear you, I've posted about my issues with lillettes and my dress but they did come through in the end for me. it certainly hasnt been smooth thus far but it could be worse im sure.
my first fitting is schedule for 8/12 so hopefully it goes well.
I have worked with Donna and Christina. Donna is amazing, Christina was very sweet but I had issues with her when she ordered my dress in the wrong size. I think it all depends on the day there...
