A Reading Idea...

I wrote this poem over a year ago for FH. I framed it and he has it in his room. I wanted him to know how much he means to me, and all the wonderful things he does for me all the time. I feel so blessed to have him in my life, and since I love to write poetry, this was the best way to express it. I thought if anyone wanted to use it as a reading, to let me know. Of course, you'd have to change the name at the end, but thought I'd throw out the idea. Let me know what you think. Thanks! Elisa

You're Wonderful Because...

You’re wonderful because of the way that you treat me
If only you knew all the joy that I feel
You help tear down walls that my heart had built
and all my old wounds you’ve helped me to heal
Your strength in my weakness has helped me to stand
You gave me hope that true love can be found
I’ve never met someone more unselfish and kind
and your love for me is so deep and so sound
At times when my faith or my spirit is down
you don’t get upset, you just help me to smile
You’re patient and caring and on this long journey
I pray that you’ll be there as we walk another mile
It would take me a lifetime to say thank you to you
For all the beautiful things that you do
Your heart is so big and it shows me just how
Much God loves me and how much He loves you
He couldn’t have blessed me with anyone better
You’re amazing and sometimes I wish you could see
The man that I grow more in love with each day
The man I believe God has chosen for me
So I want you to know that I may not be perfect
But my love for you will always be true
There’s no one else out there for whom I could say

Love Never Fails

Love cannot be measured by weight, it cannot be drawn from a well.
Love cannot be bought by ones riches. It cannot be given away, then taken back.
Sometimes love is hard to see, feel, or show. Yet, it can be seen with the eyes, felt in the heart, and shown by the simple act of a hug. Love is an incredible word that cannot be defined. It’s price is innumerable. It can't be put in a box, tied with a ribbon, or bought. Love is patient, kind, long-suffering, is not envious, and does not boast. It is enduring, and never ending. It is pure.
Love is laying down one's life for his friend, it is selfless. Love is forgiveness. Faith, hope and love. The greatest of these is love. I love you
with more love than I could ever express.
