a sad story to tell, but hopefully, we can learn from it...
On Friday Morning, my sister rcvd a phone call that her friend had past away. She was only 18. She struggled many years with her heart, and her last heart transplant failed her. My sister called me from the bathroom of her college, crying and beside herself.
I knew this young girl. She was one of the volunteers for several fashion shows that I headed for the local high school, in which all proceeds went to Ronald McDonald House. She was our inspiration.
She was very vibrant and probably one of the sweetest and kindest people I ever had the opportunity to meet.
I went to her wake tonight, not only to send my remorse to her family and friends , but to extend a shoulder for my sister to cry or lean on. I listened to all the stories, and how they celebrated her life.
On the back of her program was a letter she wrote when she was 11. She had a heart surgery, and she wrote all the postive and wonderful things that can happen for her now. Her optimisitc words were so overwhelming and joyful. She loved life.
Ladies, we need to take a moment and appreciate EVERYTHING positive in our lives. We are all so wrapped up in our lives, we forget to actually live it. Her passing was such a sudden eye opener for me. It made me stop. It made me think. I don't want the negativity to surrond me anymore. And the way she lived, happy, joyful, never down, is how we should be. She appreciated life is so many ways.
Its funny how this is affecting me so much. Maybe because it hit so close to home. But I wanted to share this with you bc we forget to live.
So please, as our weddings are approaching and with all the stress and the drama that may occur... just step back from it, and realize that an amazing thing is happening to you. And everyday just Live.
Sorry for the lecture, but tonight really got to me. And I wanted to share this with my friends...![]()
