A sign or just another Rainbox, please read and tell me what you think?

My Friends,

I had the most amazing experience last night. Ok, here it goes:

Last night, I was on the train coming home from work and I am reading a book. This book was talking about how rainbows and butterflys are symbols of life after death and are our loved one's ways of communication to us. So as I was approaching Copiague, my stop, I closed my book and looked outside and saw that the rain had stopped and sun was coming out. I thought to myself, 'God, if my Dad is going to be O.K. show me a rainbow.' So I looked out the window again and nothing. So I turned and looked out the window across the aisle. Guess what I see..... A Rainbow. Ok. So I think I am seeing things, so I ask this woman, is that a Rainbow and she was like yeah isn't it beautiful. She goes I was just looking at it myself.

Ok, it gets even better. So I get off the train and look up and there is the most SPECTACULAR rainbow I have ever seen in my ENTIRE life. Everyone was stopping to look at it and people were saying I wish I had a camera, I never saw anything like it. Anyway, it went from my left as far as my eye can see, straight over my head, and to the right as far as I could see. As a matter of fact, where I was standing on the platform, I was right under the middle of the rainbow, the arch of it. As I stood there, I saw another rainbow starting to form....

Now, tell me that is not AMAZING. So I go home and tell Mike (DH), and he says, 'So what I saw a rainbow last night.' Jerk............ :)

But come on. How many times does it rain and you don't see rainbows. The fact that I asked for a sign of the rainbow and 2 minutes later get off the train to see the most spectacular rainbow!!!

What do you girls think?

I would love to hear honest opinions, here girls. I can take it if you think I am being totally ridiculous here, like my DH thinks! :)

P.S. Who cares what he thinks, right. Most men never believe in this stuff, anyway.

I didn't know that rainbows and butterflies were signs from the other side...

but I'd say it's definitely a sign!!! Best wishes to you and your family in your time of need!!!

I believe in it. Butterflies and rainbows both have special meaning to our family regarding eternal life/life after death. (and other reasons).
My mom was driving home from work on her birthday (May 5th). She started thinking about her father (who passed away years ago, and who also happened to be in the Rainbow Division in the Army), then all of a sudden she sees a rainbow up ahead! She believes it was his way of saying 'Hi, happy birthday'. DH thinks its crazy too, but i believe in it.

I think our loved ones are always with us, but it seems like a wonderful sign that he is watching over you!!!!!!

I think my angels give me signs all the time. After my father passed away I was on the plane home from my honeymoon and I got three signs:
the plane had the song I dedicatd to him playing

the guy next to me had my father's last name

in the paper the guy next to me reading was a big thing about the maries and the song taps (my father was a marine and taps was played at his funeral)

I could go on and on and on with signs I feel I have gotten. I think if you are open to them then you will see them. For me they always come in groups, not just a single coincidence, so I take them a signs. I call on my angels when I need them and for me it is a comfort.

Well my Dad is still here. But he has cancer and I am just so scared, I want him to be ok. That is why I asked for that sign. :)

I wish your dad the best. My mother survived breast cancer and my father passed away from lung cancer that spread to his bones.

I totally believe in signs or 'gifts' from above as I call them.

I've had some things happen to me that I believe were signs or 'gifts' from ppl who have passed..

It's definitely magical and very special...

I got chills..... in the good way. I totally beleive in this stuff & DH used to tease me.
Now he smiles everytime we see a rainbow, because one of our best friends who was to be our GM died on Thanksgiving last year. During his funeral it snowed something awful, but when we got to the gravesite there was a tiny little (but bright) rainbow over the chapel.

I also got chills when I read your post (also in a very good way!)

I totally believe in signs of this kind, and I believe that you seeing those beautiful rainbows was a DEFINITE sign!

I saw tons of them in Hawaii but not like what you saw. That's amazing

That also reminds me: I never got a sign from my mom (not one that I saw or struck me like yours did) but my aunt told me that her husband, before he died, used to plant seedlings into old coffee cans and put them out on the deck and then transfer them to the garden when they got bigger. So the day of his funeral mass, she and my cousins were walking up the path to the Church and what do they see but 2 coffee cans with tiny plants peeping through. Definitely a sign

How often do we see rainbows, and you had just prayed for one! I am sorry to hear about your dad, I'm not sure what stage he is in, but please know that cancer doesnt always = death.
My dad had advanced stage colon cancer about 9 years ago, it was such a tough time for all in my family...we definately thought he was not going to make it, but thank God he's still here and in great shape, they were able to remove the cancer cells thru surgery/radiation, he goes for check ups every 3 months.
Anyway the reason Im telling you this is because I remember going thru that horrible time, like you are now, makes you grow spiritually, and you learn how in touch with God or Angels or whatever you believe in-you truly are.
I think that it takes trial & tribulation in order for a person to open up to the spiritual world and to realize that not everything is black & white. I feel that people who don't believe in signs never had to go thru really a trying time in their life, ie;possibly losing a close family member.
I was curious as to what book you were reading. I am reading a book right now that is called 'When God Winks' that talks exactly about your experience. When your going thru a questioning time, and you pray for an answer, if you just open yourself to it, you will see all the signs you receive to direct you. Sorry this is so long...And my prayers are with you & your Dad!

i think that you were very blessed to have seen that! i feel that same thing...rainbows and butterflies...i believe in signs...some things are too coincidental, you know? and when you feel it, that feeling in your gut that something or someone is with you, then you're right, no matter what someone else says...some people are just not ready or open to experience it or take it for what it is worth and therefore, can't appreciate it...in due time, though. for now, i think you experienced something so special.
