I am completely clueless about the entire hair and makeup procedure and I'm a smidge overwhelmed, so I was wondering if some of you beautiful ladies could point me in the right direction.
1. Does the bride pay for ALL of the bridal party?
If so, is there usually a minimum or maximum number of girls they require? I don't think they do but then this leads me to my next question...
2. What is an appropriate amount to ask the bridal party to pay? I feel bad asking my bridal party to pay even more money just for hair and makeup. Can a girl refuse to get her hair and makeup done? Like I want to put it out there that HEYYY YOU DO NOT NEED TO DO THIS IF YOU DON'T WANT TO but here is the information if you DO want to?
3. I'm getting married at my reception venue, as well as taking pictures there and all that fun stuff... to stylists often travel to the venue or do you have to go to them?
I need to know this because I'm getting married way the hell out in Rocky Point and it's kind of a hike for people.
I'm sorry that I'm asking all of these questions, but I want to be prepared when I start calling people. Out of everything I've done so far, THIS seems to be what's stressing me out the most. Lol

a slew of hair and makeup questions... - Long Island Weddings
I am not paying for my bridal party, though some people do as a gift. I asked my girls who wanted hair and make up done and I gave them the cost if they went to a salon or had the girl coming to my house do it and let them chose. I have a hair and make up person coming to me, as most usually do, and the price for bridesmaid to get hair done with me is more than going to the salon. Hope this makes sense and helps

thanks! That does help! It has been decided... since I've already purchased many gifts for the bridal party, I will let them decide if they want to get their hair and makeup done because it will be out of their own pockets. Thank you for your help!

i'm not paying for the bridal party, and they are all doing hair for sure, but makeup is optional.. they are paying about $60 each for hair, but it depends on the style they choose. a blowout is only $40 and if their hair is short or thin, an updo may be cheaper for them. Makeup was a little more expensive, so it's up to them if they want to do it. My mom is doing airbrush and my fmil is as well, but a few of my bridesmaids are leaning towards traditional makeup or just doing it themselves which is fine with me

1. I'm not. That's your decision. I thought about doing it as part of the gift for my girls, but some of them wanted to use their own people so it made my decision a lot easier. I have been in weddings where they have paid and weddings where they' haven't - totally up to you,
2. I asked my BP ahead of time if they were interested in getting their hair and makeup done. I think makeup is around $65 and hair is around $75 I'm not certain though.
3. I know that there are makeup artists that will travel to the venue with you, but you'll have to pay extra for them.

1. You do not have to and it shouldn't be expected. I paid for all the girls who had their hair/makeup done with me because in the end it only ended up being my mom, sister and 2 best friends who paid for my bach party. 2. Hair was $70 per girl and makeup was $65 3. My hair stylist and makeup came to my parents' house in Queens. They were fine with this, but they also came from western Nassau. If you found someone based out east who travels I'm sure it would be a problem. I believe Dusti from Fire Monkey is further out on the island and travels.

I was very nervous about this. My bridal party is absolutely not in a great financial place (2 college students, a single mom, and a brand new home owner and mom to be). I was honest with them and I said I am doing my best to find the best bang for my buck with a hair stylist for the wedding. I will be getting my hair done, will you be interested as well? They all said yes, and then from that point I kind of knew to keep their situations in mind and do my best. I really think I did with Fire Monkey. As far as make up, I have not made up my mind. My sister has said she would rather give me an additional $70 as a gift than to get make up done. So I have kind of figured I am on my own for that one!
