These two wonderful ladies at work went ahead and bought me a Charles Winston necklace and earrings to wear with my wedding dress. It's a bit gawdy, but pretty none the less. The problem is they spent more than any aquiantance should have. Im 90% certain I dont want to wear this on my big day. What to do??????

Re: A small dilemma....
You could always blame your mom and tell them that you promised her you'd wear her necklace (pearls....)

Maybe you can explain that you already have jewelry picked out for your wedding gown, but wear the stuff they got you at your rehearsal dinner. I'm sure it would look lovely with a simple black dress.

Re: A small dilemma....
I was thinking along the lines of that. Maybe wear the earrings or the necklace to the bridal shower, and when they ask, tell them that my sister gave me her jewelry along with the her tiara. I all ready told them that she's letting be borrow the tiara. I feel bad though. They did spend a pretty penny, and Id hate for them to think I was ungrateful.

That sounds perfect. That's what I would do. its a little resumtous to by a bride soetmhign to wear on her eddign day, anyway.
Usually you put a lot of thought into these tings, or wear sometmhing sentimental.
Do you have something else to where, or are you now going to check out your sisters jewelrey!

Re: A small dilemma....
Well with the dress I had in mind I was going to go down a whole different route. I'll post the pic but since the straps have a lot of rhinestones I was just going to skip the necklace and wear a four or five row rhinestone cuffs on top of the long white gloves.

Re: A small dilemma....
Everyone keeps telling me to go with the second dress. I really did love the second dress, but I've always been a big fan of the not your typical wedding dress, which this one is. Im at a loss. Im probably going to have to try them on again and make a final decision. I havent decided yet, but Im still in the clear. I have til october to decide.

Re: A small dilemma....
I'm a little confused. why would co-workers think that you would wear something they bought you on your wedding?? As opposed to something of your mother's or grandmothers. I suggest you politely(sp) thank them and state you will wear it on a special occasion. as special occasssion other than your wedding!!
