I can't remember 1996...but I do remember I think 1990...b/c we used to go to CT to my dads side...and in 1989 it was the first time they came to our house for TG on LI...but then I think it was the next year...we stayed home...b/c it was too bad to drive...(there is a SLIGHT chance it could have been 1991- had to be either 90 or 91)
edited to say now I am not sure...it could have been 1989...b/c maybe it was 88 the CT relatives came to us...
sorry

LOL!! I don't remember the year but my father had a Jeep and traditionally he would take off the top at Easter & store at my Grandmother's house (we lived in an apt in Queens) and put the hard top back on at Thanksgiving. Well, we have pictures of him & my cousins driving around in tons of snow in the Jeep with NO top!!! If I get the chance, I'll scna them tonight & post (I'll also be able to get the date from my photo album).

The first deep freeze was 1993 but didnt effect everyone.. then there was the infamous Blizzards of 1996. That one actually shut San Antonio down.
But in the Winter of 1984 San Antonio got 13inches of snow. I had just moved there and made a snowman. I figured if I could do that.. then I just might be alright in Texas. heh

1989 we had a bad snow storm the day before Thanksgiving. I remember because it was my first year at college and I was driving home
