I was looking at the wedding cake thread and Oh my god these cakes are gorgeous!!!! Wow! I am really impressed!!!
Has anyone ever heard of ice cream wedding cake? My FH wants ice cream wedding cake... I always wanted canoli filling cake... so I told him we'd get an ice cream groom's cake, but he wants the big cake to be Carvel Ice Cream cake!!
Also, when you get a cake, can you get two different flavors? His side has probably never ever heard of canoli (They are Italian-food PHOBES) and so I was wondering if part of the cake can be canoli and part chocolate.
I'm sure they could do it for much more money, but has anyone ever done this?

I don't think your request is one that hasn't been asked before. I'm not sure if you're getting your cake from your reception hall...because if you are, that request may be a little harder to fill...but if you're getting it from a baker, I'd just go and ask.

my hall told me I could choose 2 fillings. I had chocolate Mousse & Raspberry Mousse

yum, that sounds good! I dont know if thats possible though, it might melt really fast! what about ice cream sundaes on the tables? just an idea since he likes ice cream so much :)

I don't know if it is possible for you to get an ice cream wedding cake- it would melt very quickly and usually the hall keeps the cake out for the entire reception off to the side.
With that said, maybe you can serve ice cream WITH the cake.
Most halls will allow you to split the flavors of the cake. We had 2 layers with vanilla cake & canoli filling and two layers with chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling.

the hall could definatley doooo canoli and chocolate.. for the icecream they could serve a slice of ice cream cake with the wedding cake... I thought of the icecream idea too but fh reminded me that its kinda tough to cut through(plan to to the cake cutting ceremony)

have a small ice cream cake for him! its called the grooms cake, and many couples are doing this now. they have two cakes, a wedding cake and a grooms cake! Your wedding have it your way!!!
