a stupid girl question (can someone enlighten me???)

has anyone ever wondered how many eggs are actually crushed during your period? or how big an egg is??? i have this weird thought that i either have:

a.) ovulated a lot of eggs OR
b.) it's 1 mad-big egg

that was crushed because why is it that my period lasts for 3 days?!?!?! (sometimes longer)

I believe it's 1 egg that's released. 2 eggs, if fertilized, become fraternal twins.

i'm no doctor but i THINK it's usually one egg per month ... and an egg is a single cell so i don't think it can be 'much larger'.

From what i remember from health class, the eggs don't actually get crushed or anything ... it's the uterus wall that um ... sheds .... i think.

anyway, 3 days of period is nothing ... before BC, i got my period for 7-8 days ... that was fun

Each month one egg is released. If it's not fertilized with sperm, you get your period. Sometimes there are two eggs that fall and if both are fertilized you have fraternal twins. (not identical)

your eggs are not 'crushed'

your period is the lining of your uterus.

1 per month. and they usually switch from which side they come from. unless its 2 (or 3) in which case you'd have twins/triplets if you got pg.

Same here! I wish mines only lasted 3 days!
